Divorce Him, Then Dazzle novel Chapter 16

Lambert turned his gaze away from the horizon and replied, “Just needed some fresh air. Why do I need a reason for everything I do?”

He really didn’t.

But Faust still found it hard to get his head around.

He’d been shocked enough when Lambert bought this yacht. Now there was a party on it, when everyone knew Lambert wasn’t the type to enjoy big gatherings. The man didn’t need this kind of event to make connections either.

“So, just decided to do it for fun?” Faust guessed, though it felt out of character. “Doesn’t really sound like you.”

Lambert glanced at him, a little annoyed. “You talk too much. Go take care of yourself, stop tailing me.”

Faust stopped in his tracks, shrugging. “Fine,” Faust said, grinning. “I’ll go see if anyone interesting showed up.”

Lambert frowned. “Don’t cause any scenes at my party.”

Faust raised both hands, faking innocence. “Come on, when have I ever caused a scene? Don’t make me sound so desperate. What, you think I’m like Owen Gates or something?”

Everyone knew Owen was infamous for going through women at a rate most people couldn’t believe.

Lambert adjusted the cufflinks on his wrist. “Owen’s showing up today?”

“The more people, the livelier, right?” Faust tried to sound casual, knowing Lambert wasn’t a fan of Owen. “Anyway, it’s about respect for his father.”

As he said that, Faust noticed someone arriving down below and waved. “Well, speak of the devil. He’s here. I’ll go say hi.”

Owen was hardly a role model, but he’d been born lucky. In Cabinda, millionaires were everywhere, but only a handful made it all the way to the top. People always said that ninety-nine percent of the world’s wealth belonged to just one percent of the population. It really was true.

Owen tightened his hold on his date and was about to head upstairs when he caught a glimpse of blue out of the corner of his eye.

She had curves in all the right places, an hourglass shape, and a waist so small it looked like a single hand could wrap around it. Compared to the woman at his side, she was just on another level.

He couldn’t look away. Forgetting his own date, he made a beeline toward the mystery woman.

Who would’ve thought there’d be such a knockout at Lambert’s party. For once, Owen felt like showing up had really paid off.

Meanwhile, Daniel was busy leading Camilla around, introducing her to everyone. To him, these kinds of parties were golden chances to expand his circle. Having powerful friends was great, but if there was an extra way to make money, who would ever turn that down?

Owen quickly closed the distance, eyes fixed on Camilla’s face, and for a moment, he couldn’t even blink.
