Divorce Him, Then Dazzle novel Chapter 172

In the dream, a tall man had his arm around her waist. She tried to look up at him but was held firmly against his chest.

She couldn't see his face, but she could hear his voice.

He said, "Are other men's abs nice to look at?"

The scene shifted, and Camilla was outside the bar's restroom again.

The gross, heavyset drunk was walking toward her with a sinister grin.

Camilla wanted to run, but her legs wouldn't obey.

As the man got closer, the nauseating stench of smoke and alcohol filled the air, and her heart began to race.

Just as panic and fear took hold, an arm suddenly reached out from the side and pulled her away.

When she looked again, the drunk had been sent flying by a powerful kick.

The man holding her was just as tall, and the same words echoed in her ear again.

"Are other men's abs nice to look at?"

Throughout the night, the scenes kept changing, shifting through countless scenarios.

But the final image always froze on that same question.

Looking at her reflection, Camilla belatedly realized that the tall man in her dream was Lambert.

Her head had been foggy right after waking up, but now the details of the dream were unfolding one by one in her mind. Lambert's strong hand clasped around her waist, the cool, distant scent of pine on him, his powerful arms, his solid chest...

Camilla suddenly turned on the faucet and splashed cold water on her face.

*Crazy. I must be going crazy.* Dreaming about a man was one thing, but dreaming about *Lambert*? What on earth was she thinking!

A knock came at the door, which Camilla only heard after turning off the water.

She hastily wiped her face and hurried to open it.

*Isn't he?* Camilla thought. A man like Lambert seemed like he would be incredibly discerning.

He must have been raised on the finest things since childhood, born with a silver spoon. Dining on gourmet cuisine, living in mansions—every word, every action defined what it meant to be noble and upper class.

That was why she felt she and Lambert were from different worlds.

If she was going to treat him to a meal, it had to be at a respectable restaurant.

She couldn't imagine Lambert sitting in some little hole-in-the-wall diner. That's why she'd asked Catheleen to find a nice place, preferably somewhere Lambert had been before and enjoyed.

Catheleen added, "This meal is going to cost a lot. It's not easy for you to earn money. Maybe we should switch to another place?"

"No, let's stick with this one," Camilla said. "It's fine. Money can be earned again. Besides, if we're treating Lambert, we should be sincere about it. He let us see his private jewelry collection—that's an opportunity money can't buy."

Catheleen nodded. "That's true. Okay, then, this place it is."

A little before six, Catheleen called out to Camilla. "Cammie, let's go downstairs! Lambert's here!"
