Thankfully, her clothes were all still on and intact.
Her coat, purse, and phone were on a nearby chair.
She didn’t bother with anything else, just threw on her coat, grabbed her things, and made a run for it.
But just as she left the bedroom, the main door to the suite opened.
Lambert was walking in, talking on the phone.
Camilla froze, as if she'd been hit by a spell.
In that moment, she wished she could just vanish on the spot.
Or find a hole to crawl into.
She had absolutely no idea how to face Lambert!
“You’re awake?”
Lambert hung up the phone and walked toward her.
Camilla’s heart pounded in her chest. She was flushed with shame and embarrassment, feeling awkward all over.
She clutched her purse tightly. In a moment of panic, an idea flashed through her mind.
She looked down at the floor and said, “Is this Mr. White’s room? I’m sorry, I don’t know how I ended up sleeping here. I tend to pass out when I drink, and I don't remember anything. I’m so sorry if I caused you any trouble!”
After she finished, she gave a quick, deep bow and bolted.
Lambert watched her run out of the room, a hasty, flustered retreat, as if a wild beast were chasing her.
She had just called him “Mr. White” again, using that formal tone.
And she claimed she didn’t remember anything from last night.
He smiled to himself.
He didn’t believe her.
If she truly didn't remember anything, she wouldn’t have been so mortified to see him.
She must have remembered something to have such a strong reaction.
Lambert’s lips curved into a slight smile. He thought of the call he had just been on and dialed the number again.
After listening to the person on the other end, he said, “Mom, don’t listen to those ridiculous rumors. I’ll bring your daughter-in-law home before the end of the year, okay?”
Meanwhile, once Camilla was outside the club, the cold wind finally helped her calm down a little.
But as she recalled the events of last night, her face burned with heat.
Who was that crazy person?
Was she possessed by someone?
Why did she have to do something so humiliating?
Throwing herself into his arms, groping his abs, calling him a jerk, and then shouting that his abs were the best…
Camilla grew more and more mortified the more she thought about it. She covered her head with a pillow and kicked her feet wildly against the mattress a few times.
And the worst part was… she had also noticed Lambert’s physical reaction.
At the time, she had even said…
Ahhhhhhh!
She couldn’t bear to think about it!
She swore! She would never see Lambert again for the rest of her life!
Little did she know, some things in life don’t unfold according to one's will.
Very soon, she would meet Lambert again.
