What happened on the yacht was embarrassing enough. She never imagined that, while drunk, she would once again have such intimate contact with Lambert. The crucial thing was, they barely knew each other, and Camilla had always been deliberately keeping her distance.

But as fate would have it, the very thing she feared most was what kept happening. She wanted to stay away, but now she had promised not to.

Camilla just hoped that after this, they would never have to see each other again.

She pressed herself against the car door, her slender frame taking up only a tiny fraction of the back seat. It was obvious she was trying to put as much space between them as possible.

When she was drunk, she had tried so desperately to get close to him, getting anxious when she couldn’t touch his abs. Now that she was sober, she was a completely different person, keeping as far away as possible.

Lambert almost laughed in frustration. She was like a classic player, all over him one minute and a complete stranger the next.

Lambert didn’t speak, but his presence filled the entire car. Camilla felt that every breath she took was filled with his faint, cool scent of pine.
