The other man...
What kind of title was that?
How could a ridiculous phrase like that ever be associated with someone as formidable as Lambert White?
Camilla sighed helplessly. "Catheleen, stop talking nonsense."
"Okay, okay, my lips are sealed! If Lambert hears me, he'll actually end my life." Catheleen sat on the edge of the bed. "Cammie, I am so sorry about all this. Once you're discharged, I promise to take amazing care of you."
"Why are you still apologizing?" Camilla reasoned. "Should I be thanking you for calling the ambulance? Otherwise, I would have just suffered alone in my apartment."
"Okay, fine, we'll drop it." Catheleen looked at her with pure affection. "Just hurry up and get better! There's a massive charity gala coming up in a few days, and my favorite idol is going to be there. Will you go with me?"
Thanks to her family's connections, Catheleen had VIP access. The celebrity she obsessed over was actually signed to her family's entertainment agency.
But Catheleen always respected boundaries, perfectly content playing the role of a devoted fan.
To Camilla, an event like a 'charity gala' sounded like something out of a movie.
It felt entirely out of her league.
But since Catheleen was asking so sweetly, she nodded. "Sure. Once I'm out of here, I'll go with you."
Mid-conversation, the door opened and Lambert strolled back in.
Catheleen immediately shot up from the bed, standing at strict attention. "Lambert!"
When Lambert left earlier, he hadn't looked entirely exhausted, but returning now, he looked thoroughly refreshed.
Finding the hospital overly warm, he had removed his tailored overcoat, draping it over one arm.
Dressed in an immaculate, razor-sharp suit, he looked commanding, lethal, and devastatingly handsome.
He looked like he was about to give a keynote speech at an international economic summit.
Camilla took one look at him and immediately averted her eyes.
Even though she was intimately familiar with his flawless features—having spent hours sketching his portrait—she was still stunned into silence every time she saw him.
Catheleen was secretly roasting him in her head. Right now, her cousin looked exactly like a peacock strutting its feathers, fully weaponizing his charm whether he realized it or not.
Little did Catheleen know, Camilla was entirely running on fumes.
She looked stoic on the outside, but inside, she was in full panic mode.
If Catheleen couldn't handle it, what made her think Camilla could?
Was there a woman alive who could honestly reject Lambert White?
Forget his terrifying wealth and background—just his face and physique were enough to leave a trail of broken hearts in his wake.
After checking on Camilla, Lambert turned his predatory gaze back to his cousin. "Are you leaving or what?"
The absolute disdain in his voice was palpable.
Catheleen wanted to cry. Was this really her own flesh and blood?
"I... I just wanted to hang out with Cammie a little longer," she braved an excuse. "If you have work to do, you can just go."
Lambert had finally managed to carve out some alone time with Camilla.
