Divorce Him, Then Dazzle novel Chapter 28

A lot of rich guys liked to mess around with women. But Lambert was different. He never chased after girls. He was always so calm, like he didn’t want anything at all.

That’s why when Galen heard Lambert was interested in someone, he couldn’t believe it. If it was a woman Lambert cared about, he’d be super cautious around her. He wouldn’t dare touch her for no good reason. Even hooking up an IV, he wouldn’t so much as brush her finger without permission.

Turns out that paranoia wasn’t for nothing.

Right before Galen tried to pull back the blanket, Lambert told him, “Turn around.”

Galen wouldn’t have seen anything anyway, but he listened and did as he was told. This woman must be seriously special, he thought. He couldn’t help but be impressed.

After soaking in cold water and going through all that hassle, Camilla didn’t have any energy left. She was finally quiet.

Lambert pulled back the blanket and caught a glimpse of her pale, delicate shoulder. He immediately looked away, just reaching over to undo the towel wrapped around her.

Her skin and the towel were both soaked, the bed was wet too. Lambert made a mental note that he’d need to change the sheets later.

He held her gently by the wrist, covered the rest of her arm, and finally said to Galen, “All set.”

Galen kept his eyes carefully on her slender hands, nowhere else. As their family doctor, he’d handled more than a few awkward or private situations, so he knew his stuff, even some nursing.

Starting an IV was no big deal for him. But as he tied the blue tourniquet around her wrist, pressing it against her pale skin, Lambert frowned and said, “Go easy.”

Galen couldn’t help but roll his eyes a little on the inside.

Once, he’d taken a bullet out of Lambert when they were overseas. No anesthetic, a critical situation, cutting into flesh with only blood and guts for company... Lambert didn’t even flinch.

But now, with just a tourniquet, Lambert wanted him to be gentle. Go figure.

He took a steadying breath and gently picked her up, moving her to the dry side of the bed. As soon as she was settled, he quickly covered her up with the blanket.

Not even a quick glance—right then, Camilla wasn’t wearing anything at all. She’d had on underwear before, but Lambert had just taken it off for her. It was soaked, and there was no way he was letting her keep it on.

Taking off her underwear and drying her off had felt like an eternity of torture. Lambert hoped he would never have to go through that again.

Finally, Camilla was resting easy. The color faded from her face, her breathing sounded calm.

Feeling overheated, Lambert went to take a cold shower and got changed into fresh clothes. When he was done, he stepped out to find Owen.

Faust was already there, staring at Owen with wide eyes, looking way more shocked than before.

He blurted out, “Wait, are you serious about what you just said?”
