Divorce Him, Then Dazzle novel Chapter 289

Camilla was already dying of embarrassment. She truly thought Lambert would finally give it a rest.

She had no idea he was preparing an even more lethal attack.

Feeding her...

That was something only deeply committed couples did!

How was Lambert doing all of this so effortlessly?

Was he a seasoned player? Had he romanced a hundred other women with these exact same moves?

He had claimed that night was his first kiss.

But Camilla found that utterly impossible to believe.

A man as flawless and powerful as him? There was no way he hadn't been surrounded by women his entire life.

The thought that he had likely stared deeply into other women's eyes and fed them the exact same way made her heart drop. The butterflies and shy excitement instantly vanished, replaced by a suffocating wave of bitter jealousy.

She turned her head away. "I'm full."

Lambert's hand froze in midair. He was no expert on women, but even he could tell Camilla's mood had suddenly nose-dived.

Was he moving... too fast?

Maybe he was being too aggressive.

Haste makes waste.

He shouldn't back her into a corner.

He lowered his hand and set the chopsticks down. "Are you really full?"

Camilla offered a stiff nod. "Yeah."

"Then let's get you up and walking," Lambert said softly. "Take it slow."

He was so relentlessly gentle. So incredibly considerate.

But once the toxic thoughts had taken root in Camilla's mind, she couldn't stop them.

She couldn't stop picturing him doing all of this—the teasing, the gentle touches, the feeding—with someone else.

Lambert had arrived a little after six. Even if she went to sleep at ten, they still had over three hours of alone time to kill.

Camilla obviously couldn't just lay in bed the entire time.

But standing in the quiet hospital room together was painfully awkward. If they didn't talk, the silence was deafening. If they did talk... she had absolutely no idea what to say.

Lambert, completely unfazed, cleared the dinner table and went to wash his hands. When he walked back out, he looked at her. "Do you want to take a walk outside?"
