Divorce Him, Then Dazzle novel Chapter 68

Daniel had been pushed away one too many times. Finally losing his patience, he yanked her close and tossed her onto the couch. The gap between their strength was obvious now, like it always is in moments like these.

Camilla’s stomach churned. She couldn’t stop shaking. As Daniel pressed closer, her fear shot up, sharp and cold. It didn’t matter that there had never been anything like this between them before. Even if there had, there was no way she’d let Daniel touch her now. After seeing who he really was, even talking to him made her skin crawl. There was no way she could let anything else happen.

Daniel dropped to one knee beside the couch and clamped a hand around her throat, pinning her in place. “You let some other guy touch you and I’m still here,” Daniel sneered. “You should be thanking me.”

Camilla’s hands scrabbled at his, but she was barely able to form words. “You bastard…”

Daniel moved closer, pushing his weight over her. “What did Owen give you? Maybe he got lucky. You look good, you’ve got the body, and maybe you were even a virgin. Guess he got a pretty sweet deal. Well, tonight I want my turn.”

Camilla lashed out, trying to kick him away, but he held her down easily. Against his strength, her struggling felt hopeless.

Her whole body trembled, but she fought back as hard as she could, screaming and twisting. Daniel’s grip was relentless, but Camilla was wild, desperate, clawing at him, pushing at him, ignoring how much it hurt.

In the chaos, Daniel felt her nails rake across his face, sharp and burning. That set him off. He slapped her, hard. “Can’t you just behave? I married you and now you’re used goods. I don’t care, and you’re still acting like you’re something special? Like this isn’t your fault?”

Camilla wouldn’t quit. She fought tooth and nail, refusing to give up. Daniel was bigger and stronger, but he still couldn’t get what he wanted without putting her in real danger. For a moment, there was nothing he could do.

But Camilla couldn’t hear him anymore. It was like she’d fallen into a nightmare, trapped and gasping for air. She kept struggling, her body moving on autopilot, refusing to give in.

Suddenly, a phone started ringing. For a second, Daniel froze, but then he just pinned her harder, his grip turning bruising. “Stop fighting. You’re just making it worse for yourself. Just calm down…”

Camilla was out of air, out of strength, but she kept pushing, kicking, shoving him with everything she had. Tears were streaming down her face, her voice cracking as she tried to scream. The phone kept ringing. It was like someone had thrown her a lifeline. Out of nowhere, she screamed, loud and raw. “Help, please! Someone help me!”

Daniel lurched forward, scrambling to cover her mouth. “Are you crazy? Shut up!”
