Divorce Him, Then Dazzle novel Chapter 94

Heads turned as they walked through the restaurant.

Camilla’s beauty was breathtaking, impossible to ignore. Catheleen, though, had a softer charm, a sweet, youthful vibe. The two of them couldn’t be more different.

Faust showed up with a friend. Once they settled into their private room, Faust pulled out his phone and called Lambert.

His friend, who knew Lambert too, glanced over as Faust hung up. “Lambert’s not actually going to show, is he?”

“Usually, he wouldn’t,” Faust replied. “But tonight isn’t just any night.”

Garrison Lane raised a brow, curious. “What’s so special about tonight? Is it an anniversary or something?”

“No big occasion. There’s just a special person here.”

Garrison pointed at himself, then at Faust. “You mean us?”

Faust just smiled. “You’ll find out soon.”

Garrison poured him a glass of water and shrugged. “Alright, I’ll wait. Hey, did you notice that total knockout by the entrance when we came in?”

Faust wasn’t sure who he meant. “Which one?”

Garrison leaned in, lowering his voice like it was a secret. “Right side of the main hall. Long hair, black sweater, pale skin, really pretty features. Honestly, she’s unreal.”

Faust recognized the description right away. It had to be Camilla.

He grinned. “What, she caught your eye?”

Garrison scoffed. “Come on. I’ve got a fiancée, remember?”

His engagement was for business, not love. There wasn’t any real passion, just compatibility.

Garrison chuckled, almost wistful. “Still, if I wasn’t engaged, she’d be exactly my type.”

Faust finally got impatient and called to check on him. No answer.

What he didn’t know was that Lambert was actually already at the restaurant, out in the main hall.

The moment Lambert walked in, his eyes found Camilla instantly. There was this pale look about her, like she still hadn’t recovered from something. Catheleen was leaning against her, needing the support.

Just as Lambert arrived, Catheleen, who only seconds ago was snuggling up close to Camilla, suddenly shot upright and slapped the man next to her, hard.

The slap echoed loud enough that Lambert could hear it from the doorway.

Lambert crossed the floor, moving quickly through the crowd.

The man who got slapped snapped out of his shock, hand shooting up like he meant to hit back.

Without thinking, Camilla wrapped her arms protectively around Catheleen, putting herself between them.
