Divorce Him, Then Dazzle novel Chapter 98

“Go ahead.” Lambert paused, then added, “Be careful.”

Camilla blurted out a quick goodbye as she closed the door behind her. Only then did she let out a relieved sigh.

Lambert stood outside for a few seconds before heading toward the elevator. He’d just slid behind the wheel of his car when his phone started ringing.

He picked up.

“Are you coming or what?” Faust said, voice laced with impatience. “What’s happening over there? Did Antarctica slow you down or something?”

“I’m not coming,” Lambert replied flatly.

“You’re not? Seriously? Did she lose her magic or something?”

“I’m hanging up.”

Faust stared at his screen as the call cut off. “What is going on?”

Garrison shrugged nearby. “Guess she wasn’t all that impressive.”

“Oh, please. Like you have any idea,” Faust muttered, tossing his phone on the table. “I’m going to the bathroom.”

The restaurant wasn’t anything fancy, so you had to leave the private room to find the restroom. Faust pushed open the door and glanced toward the main dining hall, searching for Camilla. No sign of her.

He moved a few steps closer for a better look, scanning the table where she’d been sitting. Not only was Camilla missing, Catheleen was gone too.

They both left? When did that happen?

Is that why Lambert ditched dinner? Because Camilla wasn’t around? But how would Lambert know Camilla had already left?

It bugged Faust so much that he tried calling Lambert again, but all he got was a busy signal.

At that moment, Lambert was on another call. “Do I already have a place in Aurelia?” Lambert asked. “If not, buy something spacious—quiet, secure, move-in ready.”

His assistant answered after a moment, “You’ve got an apartment in Aurelia. Actually, it’s a big one — 260 square meters.”

“Good. That’s what I needed to know.”

“Not that I know of.” Latonia sounded confused. “Why do you suddenly care about her love life?”

“She’s an adult. Never even dated?”

“She isn’t that old yet,” Latonia replied. “And for the record, you’re older than she is. Have you dated anyone?”

“No, but I’m not confused about what I want.”

“So what, you think Catheleen’s not normal?”

“As her older cousin, you need to look out for her and make sure she’s safe—especially when she drinks.”

Latonia let out a frustrated laugh. “Where are you getting this from? How could she be led astray? Don’t say stuff like that — you’ll ruin her reputation.”

“I saw it myself,” Lambert insisted. “Anyway, this is your responsibility. Talk to her.”

Latonia sounded shocked now. “You saw what? What happened? What’s going on with Catheleen?”
