“And even if I went to his office, I probably wouldn’t see him anyway,” Mia added.

As she spoke, she sounded like she’d given up on the whole thing, like it didn’t matter to her. But deep down, she still felt a twinge of disappointment.
She knew the only reason they’d met and collaborated was because of Leo’s feelings for Quinn.
As an outsider, she saw it clearly.
“Don’t give up so easily,” Quinn encouraged. “He hasn’t had any women in his life for years. I think you two would be perfect together. You’re careful, capable, and amazing. If you got together, you’d be so happy.”
“Miss Hart, I know you’re trying to help,” Mia replied gently. “But love can’t be forced. I don’t think he feels the same way about me. We barely even interact. So I’d rather focus on work-it never fails to make me happy.”
Mia had made up her mind to let go. The gap between them felt too wide. She didn’t think she was good enough for him. Sometimes, it was better not to push. She didn’t want to end up embarrassed.
But Quinn could see it in her eyes. Mia cared deeply about Leo. Love worked in mysterious ways. Sometimes a single meeting was enough to spark something.
Mia was a steady, thoughtful woman. She wouldn’t fall for someone lightly. She wasn’t drawn to Leo just because he was wealthy, owned his own company, or came from a powerful family.
So Quinn wanted to help. Even if they didn’t end up together, she wanted to give them a chance.
“Mia, don’t sell yourself short,” Quinn said sincerely. “You’re incredibly talented. I know you’ll keep getting better in this field. This is just temporary, and it’s my fault you’ve been held back.
“But I promise our studio will thrive. When that happens, you’ll be more than good enough for him. You’re capable of great things. Your future is bright. Don’t overcomplicate it. Love has nothing to do with status or background. All that matters is that you care about each other.”
Quinn couldn’t help but urge her on. She hated seeing Mia so insecure-like she was hiding her true feelings. Deep down, Mia probably wanted to get closer to Leo, but fear was holding her back.
“Thank you, Miss Hart,” Mia said softly. “You’re the only one who believes in me and says these things. But I just don’t know how to handle things between us. It feels like he’s out of my league.”
“And you know what? We’re from two different worlds,” she continued with a sigh. “Even if we spent time together, I wouldn’t know what to say. We have no common ground, unlike you and Peyton.”
Mia had little experience with relationships. She’d never dated anyone after graduating. She had no idea how to navigate these feelings.
“Peyton and I don’t have that many common interests either,” Quinn admitted. “We’re getting engaged soon, so we mostly talk about work. Plus, our families have known each other for years. My mom and his mom are close.
“So we have some things to chat about, but it’s not like we’re head over heels in love. Relationships take

work. The more time you spend together, the more familiar you become, and the easier conversation gets
Quinn thought about her own relationship with Peyton. They didn’t have endless things to talk about. She often kept her feelings to herself. But being with him felt comfortable.
He made her feel safe and secure. Most importantly, he was reliable. Everything he did put her at ease.
Their relationship had grown slowly, naturally. Their bond deepened over time, and she trusted him completely. She knew he felt the same way.
“I understand, Miss Hart,” Mia replied.
“Alright, let’s get back to work,” Quinn said with a smile. “Starting tomorrow, you’re on vacation. I can handle things here alone. There’s nothing urgent right now. And I’m treating you to dinner tonight!”
Quinn didn’t want Mia to burn herself out. She deserved a proper break.
Ever since they’d left the company, Mia had been handling everything alone, never once complaining.
