Mia deserved a proper rest. Ever since the studio started, she’d been busy with work nonstop, never once complaining.

When Quinn walked out of her room, Mabel had already prepared a glass of honey water for her.

“Miss Hart, Mr. Reed specifically told me to make this for you before he left for the company,” Mabel said. “Did you drink too much last night? You must feel terrible. Hurry and drink this. It’ll help.

“I used to make this for Mr. Reed whenever he got drunk. He always said it works like magic!”

Mabel handed her the glass. Quinn had no appetite. Her stomach still felt queasy from the alcohol, like she might throw up.

She regretted drinking so much. She vowed never to touch a drop of alcohol again.

But seeing how upset Mia had been last night, she’d felt sorry for her. Liking someone for so long with no result was cruel for a young girl like Mia.

Still, the gap between Mia and Leo was undeniable. It was understandable that she felt inferior.

Quinn forced herself to finish the honey water. After drinking it, her stomach felt much better, and her head wasn’t as heavy.

Mabel’s right. It really works wonders.

“Thank you, Mabel,” Quinn said.

“Oh, you don’t need to thank me. It’s my job,” Mabel replied. “Before Mr. Reed left this morning, he told me to keep an eye on you. He said you shouldn’t go to work. Your body hasn’t fully recovered yet.”

Mabel looked troubled as she spoke. She had no authority to stop Quinn, and she knew she couldn’t keep

her at home no matter what.

“Mabel, he’s putting you on the spot,” Quinn said. “I have very important work to handle today. I’ll go to the studio right after breakfast. I’ll be the only one there today.”

“But what about Mr. Reed? He’ll scold me if he finds out.” Mabel hesitated, caught between a rock and a hard place. This was harder than any of her usual tasks.

“Don’t worry. He won’t blame you. I’ll explain everything to him,” Quinn assured her. She didn’t want to make things difficult for Mabel.

After a quick breakfast at home, Quinn left for the studio,

On the way, she called Peyton.

“Peyton, did you tell Mabel to keep an eye on me? Stop putting her in a tough spot. I’ll be the only one at the studio today, and I have a lot of work to do. I’m fine now,” Quinn said firmly, leaving no room for negotiation.

When it came to work, she was never procrastinating. She hated leaving work for the next day-things

would only pile up.

“I’m only doing this for your own good,” Peyton said. “You drank so much last night. You should rest at home. Your work isn’t urgent. You don’t have to go in today.”

He’d been worried about her health. He never thought she’d not appreciate his concern and even blame him instead.

“Peyton!” Quinn snapped.

She hated it when people told her to abandon her work. She loved her job and wanted to realize her full potential in a field she cared about. No one could stop her from becoming better.

Her current patent projects were progressing steadily. She’d already started developing more patents and was confident she’d keep improving.

“Alright, alright. I support whatever work you do,” Peyton conceded. “But if you don’t feel well today, come home immediately. Don’t push yourself too hard. Work can’t be finished in one day. Your health is the most important thing.

“It was too late last night to say this clearly, but I need to emphasize it again. No more drinking from now on. You have such a low tolerance, and it’s not appropriate for a young woman to drink with others outside.”

“Yesterday, I had a driver with you. If no one was there to protect you, I’d be extremely worried,” he added.

Peyton cared deeply about her. He always wanted to hold his beloved woman in the palm of his hand, never letting anyone hurt her.

“I know. Alright, I’m hanging up now,” Quinn said.

She couldn’t help but think.

Has this man gotten more and more naggy lately? He used to be so quiet, barely speaking to anyone. Why does he become so talkative with me?

But deep down, she felt warm. She knew he truly cared about her.

After hanging up the phone, Quinn continued to the studio. Even though she still felt a little unwell from drinking the night before, she had to get her work done. Her next patents were already in preparation. There was no time to delay.
