It has been less than a week since she started rehabilitation, and she already couldn’t hold on. The training intensity will only increase. How will she ever make it through?
But he had no choice. He had to fix this and comfort her.
What else could I do?
If she refused to cooperate now, her treatment would only take longer.
“Go check on her,” Quinn said gently. “Her reaction is normal. She’s never been through such intense training before.”
She didn’t mind Peyton going to see Wendy. But deep down, she knew Wendy was just being unreasonable –all she wanted was more of Peyton’s time.
Her possessiveness was terrifying. She was always being overly dramatic, which was exhausting.
Still, they owed her. They couldn’t refuse her, no matter how frustrating it was. There was no way to cut ties completely.
“Peyton, they’re being so cruel to me!” Wendy’s voice was full of resentment. “They’re so strict every day. No matter how much I cry or yell, they just ignore me. They won’t even let me scream in pain! But I’m suffering so much. I can barely hold on. What’s wrong with me yelling a little?”
Wendy was furious, and she wasn’t exaggerating this time. Every day was pure agony-worse than death.
She really couldn’t go on. She didn’t want to come here at all. But there were people monitoring her every day, forcing her to attend the rehabilitation sessions.
She’d thought this private facility would be kind and humane. But they were pushing her to her limits, showing no mercy.
She’d never tolerated being forced or disrespected. So far, her training has been a disaster. She’d made no progress in the past few days.
“Stay right there. Don’t go anywhere. I’m on my way,” Peyton said. He’d wanted to stop interfering, but he knew Wendy would keep causing trouble until he showed up. Eventually, the facility would call him anyway.
It was better to go there and resolve the issue once and for all. That way, he could finally have some peace of mind.
After hanging up the phone, he turned to Quinn.
“Quinn, I’m so sorry. I have to go there. I won’t be able to stay with you tonight.”
He’d come home early specifically to tell her about the engagement and have a nice dinner together at
home.

Chapter 116 Please Take Me Home
So much had happened lately. They hadn’t had a proper meal together in days.
He’d never expected this to happen.
He felt guilty, like he wasn’t doing enough. He owed Quinn so much.

“Hurry and go. She’s waiting for you,” Quinn said. “It’s fine if I eat alone. I know this needs to be resolved. We shouldn’t put it off any longer.
“Don’t blame her too much. It takes time to adjust, and that process must be painful. We can’t truly understand what she’s going through, so try to be patient with her.”
Instead of getting angry, Quinn tried to see things from Wendy’s perspective.
Weare both women. There’s no need to make things harder for each other.
She’d seen people go through rehabilitation before. She knew how painful it could be-more than most people could bear.
So she felt a little sympathy for Wendy.
“Okay. Stay home and rest. Don’t wait up for me,” Peyton said.
He had no idea how long he’d be gone. He didn’t want Quinn to stay up waiting.
After leaving home, he went straight to the rehabilitation center.
When he arrived, Wendy was throwing things in the room, screaming angrily at the staff.
Everyone understood she was in a bad mood, but the staff looked terrified, avoiding her gaze.
It must haye been torment for them too, but they had no choice.
When Wendy saw Peyton, her angry, twisted expression instantly softened. She looked wronged, tears streaming down her face.

“Peyton, you’re finally here!” she cried. “I missed you so much. Do you know how torturous these past days have been? I can’t take it anymore. Please take me home! I want to leave right now, but they won’t let me go,”
