“We rarely get together like this. Can’t we just have a peaceful meal? You’re all family-blood is thicker than water. Look at the way you’re acting!

“You’re bringing shame to the Reed family!”

Iris hated their behavior. She’d tried to hold back, but she couldn’t keep quiet any longer.

With Iris speaking up, they finally stopped bickering.

Donna had been surprisingly quiet all evening, glued to her phone. No one knew who she was texting or what she was planning.

She didn’t put her phone down even at the dinner table

“Iris, the doctor specifically said you need to eat light food,” Eleanor reminded her. “Now that you’re home, you still have to be careful!”

Iris loved rich, fried foods-tastes just like a young person’s. Everyone usually cooked her favorite dishes, but now they had to adjust for her health.

“I know,” Iris replied. “You don’t need to fuss over me every day. I can take care of myself. You all have busy jobs and your own lives. Don’t focus all your attention of me-I’ll feel pressured.”

Iris was too proud to let them hover. She’d been used to living alone for years. A full house only made her feel overwhelmed. She hated being disturbed.

“Iris, I know you just got out of the hospital and I don’t want to upset you,” Donna suddenly spoke up-she hadn’t said a word since arriving. The room went quiet. Everyone wondered what she was going to say.

“Say what you have to directly. No beating around the bush,” Iris said, eyeing her suspiciously. She could tell Donna had something big to announce-something about Peyton.

“Alright. Since you said so, I’ll be straight,” Donna said. “ut you need to prepare yourself. I’m afraid this will be too much for you. It’s a matter of great importance to the entire Reed family!”

Quinn looked at Donna, curious and uneasy. She had no idea what was coming.

“Cut the suspense. Spit it out already,” Iris urged. “We’re all family. There’s no point in being so indirect.”

Iris was growing impatient. Donna had seemed odd eve since she arrived.

“Peyton, you’re not even a Reed,” Donna declared. “I have all the evidence right here. See for yourself.”

The room fell completely silent. Everyone froze in shock. No one could believe what they’d just heard.

How could Peyton not be a Reed?

“You can’t say things like that casually. What do you mean?” Iris’ expression turned serious. She glanced at Eleanor, waiting for an explanation.

Eleanor stood calmly, saying nothing-no rush to deny.

Donna had come prepared. She pulled out the evidence she’d been collecting. She knew this was a bombshell, so she’d made sure everything was ready. Now was the perfect time to reveal it.

Iris looked at the DNA test results and all the documents Donna handed over. They clearly proved Peyton wasn’t a Reed.
