Quinn’s voice was heavy with sadness as she brought it up. She felt truly sorry for Peyton.

Even though his true identity had been exposed, he’d devoted so much to the Reed family over the years.

Eleanor worried deeply about her son. She knew he’d be unwilling to give up the company just like that.

The whole situation had happened so suddenly. Peyton hadn’t figured out what to do or how to handle it.

If Iris forced him out of the company, he’d have no choice but to comply.

“Mom, once Grandma calms down, I’ll talk to her,” Peyton said. “I’ll do whatever she decides. Even if I have to leave the company, I’ll tie up all loose ends first.”

It was his final act of respect for Iris. They’d lived together for over twenty years. Despite everything, Iris had always treated him well. Their bond was deep.

“It’s okay if you can’t work at the company anymore,” Quinn offered. “My business isn’t huge, but I know how capable you are. If you’re willing to join me, we can build it up together. We’ll make it bigger and better.”

Quinn wasn’t sure how to comfort him, but she wanted to lift his spirits. And if it worked out, it could be a great opportunity.

“I think that’s a wonderful idea,” Eleanor agreed. “Even if you leave Reed Group, you two can start something new. You’re both so talented. I know you’ll succeed. The company will thrive.”

“Quinn, you’ve been running your business alone lately. You must be exhausted,” she added. “If Peyton helps you, you’ll both have an easier time. I believe in you!”

Eleanor felt relieved seeing how strong their relationship was.

“Sounds good,” Peyton replied. “But I haven’t figured out the details yet. Give me some time. I promise I won’t mope around even if I leave the company.”

The news still felt surreal. Peyton had never been close to his father, who’d left for abroad when he was little after a huge family fight.

He’d never really had a father figure. But his mother had loved him unconditionally, giving him all the affection he needed. He’d never felt like he was missing out.

Iris had doted on him too. He’d always been her favorite That’s why Donna had resented him for so long-

“I knew you’d handle this well, Peyton,” Eleanor said proudly.

“Everyone else can leave me, but not you,” she continue. her voice trembling. “As long as you’re by my side, I can get through anything. I’ve had hard times before.ven if we leave the Reeds with nothing, as long as we’re together, I’ll be happy.”

Since separating from Peyton’s father, Eleanor had never been with anyone else. She’d never even had rumors linked to her.

She’d lost interest in men. To protect her son and secure her place in the Reed family, she’d never considered finding another partner.

“Mom, I won’t let you suffer,” Peyton promised. “I can’t bear to see you struggle. Tomorrow we can move out of here. I’ll take care of you.”

Peyton could lose everything, but he had the ability to start over.

Leaving the Reeds didn’t faze him at all.

Quinn felt truly happy and touched seeing their unwavering resolve.
