The company employees buzzed with gossip, but most of their chatter was laced with concern for Quinn.
As one of the company’s co-founders, she’d never skimped on year-end bonuses or project incentives. She always made sure everyone got their fair share of the rewards.
That’s why everyone respected and adored her so much.
Inside the conference room, the directors huddled in whispered conversations while they waited for Quinn to arrive.
“We all know Quinn poured her heart and soul into building this company up to what it is today,” one director said, shaking his head. “It’s a shame she’s leaving. Breaks my heart.”
“Sigh. That Felix Cole has no clue what he’s doing,” another director chimed in, sighing heavily, his voice thick with worry. “He’s gonna run this company into the ground sooner or later.”
“So what can we do now?” a third director asked. “It’s clear Quinn is dead set on leaving. If we don’t do something, she’ll probably sell her shares to someone outside the company.”
“Exactly,” an older director suggested. “Instead of letting outsiders snap up her shares, we should team up and buy them ourselves. That way, we can keep Felix in check-at least we’ll have more say than he does around here.”
Just then, the conference room door creaked open softly, and Quinn walked in.
The directors stood up one after another, greeting her respectfully. “Miss Hart.”
Quinn smiled and nodded, gesturing for everyone to take their seats.
She settled into the head chair, calm and composed-as if she’d been in this exact situation a hundred times before.
“Miss Hart, you’ve put so much work into this company,” one director spoke up first, his tone full of reluctance. “How can you just walk away like this? Don’t you have any regrets?”
“Yeah,” another director echoed. “Does Felix know about this? Is there some kind of misunderstanding between you two? Shouldn’t you sit down and talk it through?”
Quinn let out a soft laugh, her voice steady and matter-of-fact, “I appreciate all your concern. But Felix and I are done. There’s no going back.
“And as you all know, Felix has already announced his engagement. Unfortunately, I’m not the one he’s marrying.”

Finisher]:
Her tone was calm but resolute-like she’d truly let go of the past and was ready to embrace a new chapter of her life.
The directors fell silent one by one, exchanging solemn glances.

“And let’s not forget-you’ve pulled us aside for private meetings plenty of times before,” Eugene added, crossing his arms over his chest, his eyes glinting with disdain. “Miss Hart never complained about those meetings.”
A mocking smirk tugged at Felix’s lips. He sneered coldly, “Mr. Sullivan, this is between me and her. Now that you’ve finished your little chat, you can all leave.”
His eyes were cold, his tone harsh and unyielding-a clear dismissal.
Eugene’s face turned bright red with rage, veins popping on his forehead. He glared daggers at Felix, then glanced back at Quinn, his voice tight with anger. “Miss Hart, you made the right call. Staying with a man like this-someone so arrogant and clueless-would only drag you down.”.
