With that, Eugene stormed off in a huff, waving his hand angrily and striding away. Quinn was left standing there, her face turning red and then pale, a complex mix of emotions flashing in her eyes.
Eugene was one of the company’s original investors-an elder statesman in every sense.
He still remembered the first time he’d met Felix. The young man had been humble and polite, his eyes full of sincerity, exuding a sense of reliability that had made Eugene invest without a second thought.
Who would have guessed that in just a few short years, Felix would change so completely? He’d become arrogant and stubborn, so conceited it was like the world couldn’t contain him. His gaze was now full of disdain for everyone around him.
Quinn stood by, listening to Eugene’s bitter disappointment in Felix, her heart a jumble of feelings. She was tired of arguing with Felix-every extra word felt like a waste of her energy.
So she turned to leave, her expression cold and indifferent.
Seeing her walk away, Felix’s eyes turned fierce in an instant. He strode forward, grabbed her wrist in a crushing grip-so hard it felt like he was trying to snap her bones.
Quinn winced in pain, her brows furrowing, but Felix didn’t care. He dragged her into his office as if she were just an object.
Then he slammed the door shut with a loud “bang!” The sound echoed through the quiet space, like a roar of his anger.
“Felix Cole, what the hell do you want?” Quinn was enraged by his sudden violence. She struggled fiercely, her eyes filled with disgust and fury.
Felix ignored her. His gaze was wild with a crazy desire. He leaned down abruptly, trying to kiss
her.
Quinn refused to let him. She bit him hard, and in an instant, the metallic taste of blood filled her mouth.
The sudden pain caught Felix off guard. He touched his mouth instinctively, looked down, and saw a streak of blood on his fingertips.
He froze for a second, then a mocking, angry smile crossed his face.
“Heh, Quinn. You’re so resistant to me, and you moved out. You must have someone else outside, huh?” His eyes were bloodshot, like a furious beast. “Your brother’s just covering for

He connected all of Quinn’s recent unusual actions in his mind, growing more convinced his guess was right by the second. He gritted his teeth as he asked,
Quinn pushed him away hard, stumbling backward from the force.
She clutched her wrist tightly-it was already bright red from his grip. Her eyes were as cold as ice as she said slowly, word by word, “Felix Cole, what you’re doing right now disgusts me.”

With that, Quinn turned to leave again.
Just then, Felix’s phone rang. He answered it hastily, and Lila’s voice came through the line- sobbing.
“Felix…” she cried. Her tearful voice threw Felix into a panic instantly.
Ever since Lila had narrowly escaped being kidnapped and hurt before, he’d been haunted by the fear that something bad would happen to her again.
“What’s wrong? Don’t cry. Where are you? I’ll be right there!”
