Done with Cheater's Coldness Shine in Rival's Arms novel Chapter 18

Chapter 18 Chaos in the Hospital

Finished

Lila sobbed into the phone, “I’m sorry, Felix… it’s all my fault. I accidentally slipped up and told Diana that you and Quinn are breaking up. She fainted from the shock.

“Waaah… I didn’t mean to, Felix! I already took her to the hospital, but she’s still in the emergency room. What do I do? I’m so scared…”

“It’s not your fault. I’ll be right there,” Felix said, his face darkening again. The anger building up inside him was now almost uncontrollable.

“Quinn, you did this! You made my mom collapse and get hospitalized. Are you happy now?” he roared.

“Answer me!”

Felix’s eyes were bloodshot, wild like a rabid beast. Quinn stepped back nervously, trying to put distance between them.

“What’s that got to do with me?” she snapped, frowning. Watching Felix blame her for everything without a shred of evidence was absurd.

Once upon a time, she’d actually believed this man would love and cherish her forever. Now she realized how stupid she’d been-blinded by love, completely foolish.

“My mom was always good to you, Quinn! If you have any conscience at all, you’ll come to the hospital with me. Otherwise, I’ll never forgive you for the rest of my life!”

“You’re insane!” Quinn laughed bitterly. She couldn’t wait to cut ties with this madman for good.

Still, Felix had a point-his mother had always treated her kindly. For decency’s sake, she really should go visit her in the hospital.

“Your mom’s in the hospital. Shouldn’t you be rushing there instead of throwing a fit here?” Quinn couldn’t fathom his twisted logic. Wasn’t the hospital the priority right now?

Felix froze, then a surge of joy and triumph washed over him. He’d known it-Quinn would never really leave him. His threat had worked; she was too scared to walk away.

“Good. We’re going to the hospital right now.”

Twenty minutes later…

Quinn and Felix arrived at the hospital together.

Chapter 18 Chaos in the Hospital

1970

Finlehed

Lila was huddled outside the emergency room, curled up into a tiny ball, looking small and helpless.

“Felix! You’re finally here!” she cried, jumping up and rushing to him the second she saw him. Her face was streaked with tears, her eyes red and puffy, her voice choked with sobs. “Diana’s still inside. She hasn’t come out yet. It’s all my fault, all mine.”

Felix instinctively put his hand on her shoulder, comforting her gently. “It’s okay, stop crying. It’s not your fault.”

The next second, his gaze turned sharp as a blade, locking onto Quinn. “If you hadn’t thrown a fit and insisted on breaking up, my mom would never be in there! If anything happens to her, I’ll make you pay!”

“Your acting’s getting better and better, Lila. They should give you an Oscar,” Quinn said coldly, her voice dripping with sarcasm. “If you put half this effort into something useful, you might’ve actually succeeded at life by now.”

“Quinn, I really didn’t mean to make Diana sick! How could you think that of me?” Lila sobbed even harder, her voice trembling.

“You know better than anyone if it was on purpose,” Quinn snapped, tired of arguing. Lila’s fake innocence made her sick to her stomach.

Quinn curled her lips into a cold laugh. She could only imagine the lies Lila had told Diana

about her.

But she saw no point in explaining. From now on, she’d have nothing more to do with Felix or his family.

She turned and walked toward the door, not wanting to stay another second.

“Stop right there!” Felix shouted.

“You’re the one who made my mom sick. How dare you leave? You’re staying here to take care of her until she’s discharged.”

For some reason, watching Quinn’s retreating figure filled Felix with a jumble of emotions. He couldn’t help but want to make her stay-even if it meant forcing her.
