Quinn laughed coldly. “Diana said she doesn’t want to see me. Besides, I’m sure someone’s dying to use this chance to show off her ‘filial piety. If I stay, I’d just ruin her little act.”

“Felix, please stop fighting,” Lila begged, putting on a worried face. “Diana can’t take any more

stress.”

Diana grabbed Lila’s hand and held it to her chest. “That’s my good girl-so sweet and sensible.”

She turned her glare back to Quinn, her voice venomous. “It was your privilege that my son even looked at you. But since you’re too stupid to appreciate it, don’t blame me for showing you my true colors.

“The Cole family may not be the fanciest dynasty around, but we’re still way out of your league, you low-class nobody.

“I’d love to see who’d want a washed-up woman like you after you

leave my

son!”

Diana’s insults grew louder and sharper, her eyes boring into Quinn like daggers-filled with pure, unadulterated hatred.

But Quinn felt nothing. She was numb to the vitriol, and she had no desire to argue anymore.

“You’re right,” she said flatly. “From now on, we’ll have nothing to do with each other. And keep your son on a leash. Tell him not to bother me ever again.”

With that, Quinn turned and walked out.

“Quinn! Get back here and finish this!” Felix shouted, instinctively moving to chase her.

But Lila grabbed him tightly, holding him back. “Felix, please—Diana is in this state because of all the fighting. Can’t you see Quinn’s dead set on leaving? You’ll never bring her back.”

A triumphant glint flickered in Lila’s eyes as she spoke. She let out a silent sigh of relief—Quinn was finally gone, and now she could have all the time in the world to curry favor with Diana.

Felix’s hands curled into tight fists at his sides. He gritted his teeth, burning with frustration, but reluctantly stopped in his tracks. His expression twisted into a complicated mix of anger and

regret.

After leaving the hospital, Quinn called Mia and asked her to meet at the company. She still had unfinished handover work to wrap up.

When she arrived, Mia was already waiting for her in the office. She took one look at Quinn and frowned, concern written all over her face. “Miss Hart, you look terrible. Did he give you

Quinn forced a faint smile and shook her head. “I’m fine, don’t worry. Let’s sort through my patents first. These are really important to me-I want to keep working on them.”

Those patents were her blood, sweat, and tears-the result of countless sleepless nights. They belonged to her and her alone, with no ties to Felix whatsoever. She was not leaving them behind.

“Of course, Miss Hart,” Mia replied, still looking worried.

successful collaborations, they were all more than willing to lend her a hand.

During those calls, Quinn made a chilling discovery: Felix hadn’t just re-registered the patents. under Lila’s name. He was planning to use them as leverage to seal a new partnership deal.

Luckily, they’d found out just in time. She had to fix this-all of it-within the next few days.

One week later.

Felix was hosting the CEO of Maxon Group and his top executives at the company. It was his first appearance at work since Diana had been hospitalized.

He looked confident, a smug, victorious smile playing on his lips. The partnership was as good as his-he’d ironed out all the details beforehand. All he had to do was present the patents, and the deal would be signed and sealed.

Checking his watch, Felix straightened his tie and told his assistant to set up his laptop, plug in the USB drive, and turn on the projector screen.

“Mr. Cole, Mr. Lewis from Maxon Group and his team have arrived,” his assistant announced.

“Tell them to come in,” Felix said, grinning.

A group of men walked into the conference room, chatting amicably. Felix stood up immediately, and the other shareholders followed suit.

The man leading the group was dressed in a perfectly tailored suit, exuding an air of authority so strong it made everyone in the room feel a twinge of pressure.
