“As a woman myself, I truly feel for her,” Quinn said earnestly. “But that doesn’t change the fact that she hid her past from you. Some things you deserve to know.
“People are selfish-I get why she kept it to herself. But as your sister, I need you to weigh your options carefully. You have to ask yourself if you two are really right for each other. If you should even stay together.
“I don’t want to watch you fall deeper and deeper into this, only to end up heartbroken. Her family issues could tear your relationship apart someday. And then there’s the fact that she was once pregnant with someone else’s child. I don’t know if that bothers you.”
Quinn laid it all out clearly. These were the exact reasons she’d decided to tell him the truth.
“Okay. I understand,” Kieran replied quietly.
His mind was a complete mess. He’d never imagined the woman he loved had endured something so horrific. She’d told him bits and pieces about her family-how her parents favored her brothers, how they’d treated her poorly.
But she’d never breathed a word about her stepfather. Never mentioned what he’d done to her when she was just a teenager. How long must it have taken her to Heal from that pain? To crawl out of that dark place?
If he broke up with her now, it would destroy her. But she’d lied to him by keeping this secret. That was a betrayal of their relationship-of the trust they’d built.
Kieran was stuck. He had no idea what to do, no clue how to face Hazel after this.
“Kieran, I know you’ll make the right call,” Quinn said softly. “I trust your judgment. I won’t interfere with whatever you decide. No matter what, I’m here for you.
“But as your sister, I just want you to be happy. You deserve someone who loves you honestly-someone who doesn’t keep huge secrets from you.”
Quinn thought her brother was amazing. He deserved a woman who would cherish him, who would never hide parts of herself just to win his affection.
Kieran’s heart swelled with gratitude. He knew Quinn had only done this because she cared about him. He didn’t blame her-not one bit. Not even for having Hazel investigated behind his back.
“Alright. You’ve said your piece. Now it’s up to me to figure this out.
“Quinn… promise me you won’t tell Mom and Dad abo this,” Kieran said, his voice tight with worry. T don’t want them stressing over my problems.”
Their parents already knew about Hazel They’d heard how well things were going between them Doris had even mentioned wanting to meet her soon.
But after everything that had come to light, that meeting would have to wait. It wasn’t the right ume
anymore.
“I won’t say a word,” Quinn assured him “If anyone’s going to tell them, it should be you. This is your call to make.”
Quinn had no intention of meddling further. Whether Bieran stayed with Hazel or ended things, it was his

She knew that firsthand. If she’d listened to her family’s advice all those years ago, she might have avoided a lot of heartache.
As Quinn left, she could see the pain etched all over Kieran’s face. She knew he was hurting, that this secret had turned his world upside down. But there was nothing else she could do. She had to let him deal with it on his own.
That evening, Peyton came home from work.
“You told your brother, didn’t you?” he said, his voice gentle. “He didn’t show up at the office today. I couldn’t get a hold of him anywhere.”
“We met up earlier,” Quinn admitted. “I couldn’t keep it from him. He’s my brother. I had to say something.
