Kieran felt a warm surge of pride. His little sister had really grown up. She was looking out for him now, and it meant the world to him.
He’d spent his whole life protecting her. Never in a million years had he imagined that one day, she’d be the one watching over him-caring this deeply about his problems.
“You’re my favorite brother, my closest family,” Quinn said softly. “Of course I care about you. Honestly, these past few days have been tough for me too. Hazel seems really nice. You two click so well-personality, everything.
“If she didn’t have that past, things would be perfect. You two would be made for each other. But now that the issue’s come up, we can’t ignore it.”
Quinn sighed helplessly. It killed her to see her brother like this, but she knew she couldn’t say too much. This was his mess to sort out. If she pushed too hard, she’d only add to his stress.
They chatted a little longer before hanging up the phone. It was clear Kieran still hadn’t made up his mind. He was too in love, too desperate to do right by her, to rush into a decision.
“Peyton, you heard how he sounded just now,” Quinn said, turning to him with another sigh. “I have no idea what to do. I don’t even know how to help him.”
She looked to Peyton for guidance. He was always so calm, so good at working through tough problems. She hoped he’d have some advice for her.
“You don’t need to stress so much about this,” Peyton said gently. “Everything works out the way it’s supposed to. I think the best thing for them is to let things unfold naturally. No need to overthink it.
“Even if they do talk about it? Honestly, I think once they lay everything out on the table, it won’t be a big deal. No reason to break up over it. She didn’t do anything wrong, after all.”
It was a different time now. Stuff like that didn’t matter as long as two people truly loved each other.
“If this issue stays unresolved, it’ll turn into a permanent wedge between them,” Peyton added, his tone sharp with clarity. “I say he should just come clean. The it’s up to him to decide what happens next.”
Peyton saw the situation clearly. If he were in Kieran’s shoes, he’d speak his mind without hesitation. When two people were in love, there shouldn’t be any secrets between them.
Quinn nodded in agreement. This was exactly why they worked so well together-they saw eye to eye on the important things.
“Alright, enough with the heavy stuff,” Quinn said, perking up with a smile. “I have good news. Another one of my patents got approved! Next step, I’m going to launch it to the market. And I’ll be setting up my new studio as soon as possible.
“We’re swamped right now. No one’s available to take of this new project. I don’t have the bandwidth to handle it all by myself. So I’m going to hire two new people-and upgrade to a bigger studio space!”
Quinn’s business was booming, growing bigger and more successful with each passing day.
She was pushing herself this hard because she wanted to prove her worth. She needed to throw herself into her work-full steam ahead.

“I’ll support you no matter what you do,” he said firmly. “But you have to promise me one thing-don’t burn yourself out. Take breaks when you need to. And don’t skip meals, no matter how busy you get!”
Peyton hated seeing her worn out. He wanted her to tak care of herself.
“Don’t worry, I’ll look after myself,” Quinn said with a grin. “And I know you’re just as excited as I am to see the studio grow. I left the company, but I’m going to work my tail off. Someday, I’ll make it big-bigger than anyone can imagine!”
Quinn found comfort in her work. It was the one thing that made her feel grounded, the one thing that never let her down. Her hard work was finally paying off
Before they knew it, the next day rolled around.
