Done with Cheater's Coldness Shine in Rival's Arms novel Chapter 213

Chapter 213 Ugly Accusations

But there was nothing they could do except try to find a solution.

“I know you’re both trying to help,” Iris said gently. “You’ve put so much thought into this. But look at me- I’m doing fine now. As long as I keep taking my medicine, I’ll only get better.

“Come on, walk with me to the garden. I haven’t been out in days. I want some fresh air.”

They headed outside together. They were chatting quietly when Donna stepped out from behind a tree- Harold right beside her.

“Quinn, what’s your game?” Donna snapped, her voice sharp. “You just want Iris dead, don’t you? I heard you’re trying to get her to have surgery. Don’t you know how risky that is for someone her age? What are you really up to?

“Iris left you her inheritance, so you’re in a hurry to offer. That way, you can take everything legally. How can an outsider be so cruel?”

Donna’s tirade left Quinn stunned. She froze, struggling to process the words. Iris had been in such a good mood earlier-but Donna’s outburst drained her color instantly. Her chest tightened, and her heart began to race.

“Mrs. Reed, that’s going too far,” Quinn said, trying to stay calm. “We only want what’s best for Mrs. Iris Reed. We care about her. If you care so much, what have you done for her while she’s been sick?”

Quinn hated fighting with them. Arguing in front of Iris would only stress her out, and it would solve nothing. Reasoning with people like Donna and Harold was useless.

Yet they always found ways to pick fights. They were clearly bitter about something-always taking their anger out on her.
