“Quinn, call me right now! Otherwise, I’ll never forgive you. Do you really want to watch Lila and me get engaged?”
Quinn stared blankly at the messages, then blocked Felix’s number without hesitation.
Where does he get so much energy? He keeps bombarding me with messages through every possible contact. Isn’t he tired of it?
She guessed his company was in deep trouble, and he was finally starting to panic. How ridiculous. He’d cast her aside like trash before, but now that he needed something from her, he wouldn’t leave her alone. Did he really think she was some fool who’d crawl back to him?
A soft knock came at the door. “Miss Hart, are you awake?” The voice was gentle, as if afraid of disturbing her sleep.
Quinn stood up, stretched, then walked to the door. She opened it with a faint smile. “I’m up. What can I do for you?”
“Mr. Reed asked us to bring you breakfast. We hope you enjoy it,” the hotel manager said politely, stepping aside to let a server push a food cart into the room.
“Please thank Mr. Reed for me,” Quinn replied, her eyes flickering with warmth.
This man was so thoughtful. She couldn’t figure out why he was being so kind to her. Maybe it was simply because their families had always been on good terms. He was probably going out of his way to maintain the stability of their family alliance.
Even if that was the case, she couldn’t help but appreciate his thoughtfulness.
“Of course, Miss Hart. Enjoy your meal. Please let us know if you need anything else,” the manager said, bowing slightly before leaving.
Quinn nodded, then took a photo of the breakfast and sent it to Peyton, “Mr. Reed, thank you for the breakfast. It’s delicious.”
A genuine smile tugged at her lips. She hadn’t felt this relaxed in years-not since she’d gotten together with Felix.
“I’m glad you like it,” Peyton replied almost instantly.
Quinn was surprised. For a moment, she had a silly thought: was he secretly watching her phone? She laughed at herself and shook her head. “I’ll start eating now, Mr. Reed.”
“Take your time.”

said.
“Really? Won’t I be bothering you?” Lila asked, her big, watery eyes melting Felix’s heart.
“Of course not. You’re the most important person in my life. I’d never find you annoying.”
