Chapter 33 Shattered Promises
Felix lay on the floor in agony, unable to fight back.
Finished
Kieran had hated Felix for a long time. Today, he finally got the chance to teach him a lesson. But even watching Felix squirm didn’t ease his anger.
Quinn has suffered far more. This pain is nothing by comparison.
You wanna keep fighting?” Kieran asked coldly.
“No… no more.” Felix whimpered. “Please let me go. I’m begging you.”
He finally surrendered. If this went on, he’d end up dead.
Kieran let him go, adjusting his tie. “Get out. Don’t let me see you again.”
Felix scrambled to his feet, bruised and limping. He fled without looking back, terrified Kieran would throw another punch.
After he left. Quinn stared coldly after him. A complex look crossed her eyes.
Once, in this same office, when they’d just started the company, Felix had promised her. He’d said the office would grow, and they’d be happy.
Now look how things turned out for them.
Watching Felix get beaten didn’t bring her the joy she’d expected. It just felt ridiculous. She’d been so blind back then.
Felix rushed out of Cole Group, fearing Kieran might chase him.
In his car. he grabbed his phone and yelled at his assistant. “Where’s the info on that guy? Did you find anything?”
“Not yet, Mr. Cole. We’re still investigating,” the assistant replied nervously.
“You useless idiots!” Felix roared. “How hard is it to find one man? If you don’t have answers in two days, you’re all fired!”
He hung up and slammed the phone onto the passenger seat.
Right then, Lila called.
She’d planned to attend her graduation ceremony, dress up, and enjoy herself. But after what happened. she’d lost all mood. She’d booked the earliest flight back.
Felix went to the airport to pick her up. When Lila saw him, she ran over and threw her arms around him. “Felix, I’m so heartbroken,” she sobbed loudly.
Felix patted her back gently. “Shhh, don’t cry,” he comforted. “People are watching. They’ll think I hurt you.
We’ll talk at home.”

I’ll fix everything for you, he added softly.
His heart ached seeing her cry so hard.

Finished
I can’t believe Quinn’s being so reckless. She’s just doing all this to get my attention and dodge the breakup. She’s ruined everything!
“Felix. I’ll never get my degree now,” Lila wept. “Why would Quinn hurt me like this? I never wanted to ruin your relationship. I always thought of her as my real sister.”
“Please take me to beg her forgiveness, she choked out. “I’ll leave your lives forever. I won’t bother you again. Just ask her to clear my name. Please. Felix.”
Lila cried louder, seething with hatred for Quinn.
That bitch has pushed me to the edge.
If that’s how it is, neither of us will have peace.
“Lila. this is my fault. Felix said guiltily. “I dragged you into this. I’m sorry.
“Even if you never get your degree. I’ll take care of you for the rest of your life. You have nothing to worry about.”
He kept patting her back, his voice warm and doting. But Lila still sobbed uncontrollably.
“You know how important that degree was to me.” she said through tears. “I know I shouldn’t have used Quinn’s patent. But I had no choice back then.”
It had been Felix’s idea to give her Quinn’s patent. Deep down, he was the one who’d ruined her.
Her words made him feel even more guilty.
Just then, Felix’s phone rang again. It was his assistant.
“Mr. Cole, Mr. Tate just called, the assistant said. “He backed out of our deal. He’s working with another
company now.
“And at lunch with Mr. Wood’s secretary, he hinted our project might not go through either.”
Since Felix and Quinn’s split, several companies had turned down collaborations with Cole Group.
Felix felt crushed. This wasn’t the first time.
