Kieran spoke earnestly.

“I know,” Quinn replied.

After hanging up the phone, she hurried to pack her things-eager to leave, not wanting to waste another minute.

She and Kieran had agreed to meet at Peyton’s villa at three that afternoon. He would pick her up, and they’d head home together.

That afternoon, Kieran arrived early.

Quinn was already packed and ready to go.

But when she walked out of the room, she was surprised to see Peyton there too.

“Perfect timing-I was just going to call you,” she said. “My brother and I are heading home to see my parents. We’ll be back in a few days.”

She wasn’t sure exactly how long they’d stay.

“Quinn, he’s coming with us,” Kieran said.

Quinn stared at them in shock.

Peyton is going to meet my parents?

“Come on, let’s get in the car,” Kieran urged. “Mom just called-Dad’s cooking your favorite meal himself. They’ve been waiting for this day for so long. Let’s not keep them waiting!”

Kieran got in the car, and the other two followed.

On the drive, Quinn gripped her skirt tightly, staring out the window.

Having Peyton there made her feel awkward. They’d spent some time together these past few days, and she’d been staying at his villa.

But meeting her parents with him so suddenly made her nervous.

It should have been a happy, exciting moment. But now, her excitement was overshadowed by anxiety.

Still, she trusted Peyton. He was the man her parents had chosen for her-they must already like him.

During the drive, Peyton chatted with Kieran, but his gaze drifted to Quinn from time to time.

Before she knew it, Quinn had fallen asleep.

When she opened her eyes again, the car was parked in front of her childhood home.

Seeing the familiar house made her heart ache.

Finther

It had been so many years since she’d been back-to the place where the people she missed meat lived,

Hearing the car, Quinn’s parents rushed out of the bone. When they saw their daughter, tears streamed down their faces.

Quinn cried too. She’d prepared herself the night before, telling herself to stay strong, and not make her

parents sarf

But seeing them in person, she couldn’t hold back her tears.

“Mom Dad…” she sobbed.

Tm sorry, Mom. I was young and foolish. I made a terrible mistake in trusting the wrong person. I’ve been away for so long, but I missed you every day, I wanted to come home so many times, but I never had the

courage.

“Dad, your hair has turned so gray. You have wrinkles now. It’s all my fault-I’m so sorry

Apologies and regrets were all she could say.

Quinn’s mother, Doris Hart, hugged her tightly, crying uncontrollably as she patted her back. “My sweet girl, Mom never blamed you. I never stayed mad at you. All your father and I ever wanted was for you to be happy.

“We love you so much. How could we let our precious daughter walk into a trap? I wanted to come see you so many times these past years. I couldn’t bear to see you with that man.”

Mother and daughter poured their hearts out. They’d never truly hated each other.

Now that Quinn had left Feliz, their family was finally reunited.

“Alright, let’s put the past behind us,” Quinn’s father, James Hart, said, gently interrupting them.

“Our daughter is finally home. Why are we standing at the door? Come inside-dinner will get cold”

He turned to Peyton with a warm smile. “Peyton, I’m so glad you came with them. You and Kieran must have a drink with me tonight. I’m in such a good mood!”

Peyton nodded politely.

The whole family went inside. Quinn looked around-the house was exactly as she remembered it

Doris had kept everything clean and tidy over the years.

“Quinn, go see your room,” Doris said. “Even though you haven’t lived here for so long. I’ve been cleaning it for you. Everything is just as you left it!

“I always hoped that one day, my daughter would come home-and have a place to stay right away.”

Deep down, Doris had waited patiently for years. She’d always known she’d forgive her daughter the

moment she came back.
