Chapter 59 New Worries

As it turned out, parents really do have sharp eyes. Their initial opposition to their relationship was absolutely right.

She finally saw through this man. He deserved to be punched!

“Let’s go, Kieran,” Quinn said.

Quinn grabbed her brother and mother and left, slamming the door shut behind them.

Seeing Kieran, Felix’s arrogance faded instantly. He didn’t dare act so shamelessly anymore, fearing he’d really anger Kieran.

“I promise you, within ten minutes, he’ll be gone,” Quinn said confidently.

Quinn knew exactly what kind of man Felix was.

“Mom, I never thought he’d find us here. I’m so sorry you had to worry. Ever since I met him, you and Dad have been worrying about me.”

Now that she was truly awake, Quinn felt terrible. Her parents loved her so much, yet they’d been torn apart for years because of a man.

“Silly girl, why would I mind? As long as you’re safe and back with me and your dad, that’s all that matters. Let’s put the past behind us!

“No matter what happens, we will always be by your side. We’ll face it together. We’re your strongest support.”

She spoke firmly. No matter what Felix did now, it wouldn’t bother them. After all, they’d finally been reunited.

“I know, Mom,” Quinn replied.

Sure enough, after realizing the family was ignoring him, Felix slunk away, looking dejected.

“Did you go visit Peyton’s family? Did Donna give you trouble? Kieran asked, concern evident in his tone.

He’d actually come home for this. Ever since he’d returned with Quinn, he’d been buried in company work and hadn’t finished everything yet.

He wouldn’t have come home if he hadn’t heard about the trouble.

Quinn nodded. “Donna and he don’t get along. But it’s okay-I don’t care. We don’t run into each other often anyway.”

She was marrying Peyton, not Donna.

Peyton’s mother and grandmother were kind to her, and they were wonderful people. So she didn’t care about Donna.

“Don’t underestimate Donna,” Kieran warned. “She’s very scheming and ruthless. She’ll do anything to get what she wants, no matter the consequences.

“She’s very cunning. She’s been trying to fight Peyton for the family fortune. You two are getting engaged soon. You’ll be family. She can have a big impact on you.

“She’s been spreading rumors about you and Felix lately,” Kieran said, his expression serious. It was clear the situation was more complicated than it seemed.

If he could handle it alone, he wouldn’t have burdened Quinn with it.

He’d told Quinn to prepare herself, not to be careless.

“Why are you telling Quinn this, Kieran?” Doris said. “Peyton is a responsible young man. I trust he’ll handle all these troubles when they get together.

“Besides, we’re innocent. Can she turn black into white by talking nonsense?”

Doris didn’t want to worry Quinn. She trusted Peyton completely and believed he could handle it.

“Mom, I’m just trying to make sure she’s not careless. She can’t take this lightly. Donna might do something

extreme!

“Donna’s actually targeting Peyton. If Quinn’s going to marry him, she needs to be prepared for anything!”

Kieran felt sorry for Quinn. She’d just gotten out of a bad relationship, and he’d hoped she’d be happy with Peyton. Peyton was a good man worth entrusting herself to. But he never expected this kind of trouble.

But there was nothing to do now. Since Quinn had made her choice, she couldn’t regret it. They’d just have to find a way to fix things.

Quinn nodded. “I know you’re just looking out for me, Kieran. Don’t worry. I’ll handle this. And I trust Peyton-he’ll take care of it too.”

“Alright, as long as you’re sure of yourself, I’ll feel better,” Kieran said, finally relaxing.

The next day.

Quinn woke up at noon. She hadn’t slept this soundly in a long time-not a single dream.

When she got up, she found lunch waiting on the table-all her favorites, cooked by her mother.

There was a note from her mother. The note read, “Mom went to play cards. Heat up the food when you wake up.”
