“If I hear any more bickering like this, don’t blame me for being harsh. You’ll never step foot in this house again. I don’t want to hear you fighting!” Iris warned sharply.

“Iris, since we’re on the topic, let’s settle this once and for all,” Donna snapped, her voice trembling with rage. “You’ve always favored Peyton all these years. My son is your eldest grandson. Why is the company under his control?

“You’ve been biased since we were kids. I used to understand-being the eldest, we should let the younger ones have their way. I never complained. But this is going too far!”

Donna was completely beside herself, her patience worn thin. She’d brought this up before, but no one had ever paid her any mind.

But now, with Quinn in the house, she figured they’d have to care about Quinn’s feelings. This was her chance to take back what was “hers.”

“I’ve never favored anyone,” Iris retorted firmly. “If things are like this, you need to look at yourself. The Reed family has a huge business. I have to hand the company over to someone trustworthy-someone I can count on 100%.

“Your son is lazy and irresponsible, always out fooling around. Do you think I can trust him with the company? Should I let him ruin my lifelong hard work?”

Iris had never spoken so harshly before. She was truly angry. At her age, she couldn’t handle such stress.

Her chest felt tight. She’d already felt guilty about the last incident, and now Donna was stirring up trouble again. Something had to be done soon-otherwise, Donna would only get more aggressive.

“Enough!” Eleanor shouted.

“Donna, is it fun to come here and cause trouble on purpose? I know what you’re after. I didn’t want to argue with you about the last incident, let alone hold a grudge.

“But now you’re hurting Quinn and Iris. If that’s how it’s going to be, let’s settle all old and new scores right now!”

Eleanor was furious. She’d endured Donna’s nonsense for far too long. Today was the day she put an end to it.

She wasn’t afraid of exchanging harsh words, and she was more than ready to go head-to-head with someone like Donna.

Peyton watched them coldly, his expression calm as if he was used to this.

Fights like this probably happened often in his family-otherwise, he wouldn’t be so indifferent.

Quinn, however, felt her heart race as she listened to their bickering. She hated seeing them fight, especially since it seemed to start because of her.

An unexpected wave of pressure weighed on her.

Chapter 63 Settling the Score

“Peyton has been running the company alone all these years, supporting your entire family,” Eleanor accused. “Be honest with yourself-who’s been funding your luxurious lifestyle all this time?

“Let your irresponsible loser of a son run the company, and it’ll go bankrupt in a month. What’s he event good for?”

Eleanor’s tone turned icy, her words coming faster and sharper.

“How dare you talk about my son like that!” Donna shot back. “How do you know he can’t do it? Is your son so great? He’s just lucky to have the family’s favor!

“Iris, this is unfair! I’m not happy about this. They’re both your grandsons. Why do you favor one so much?”

The two women exchanged heated words, neither backing down.

Quinn regretted coming here. She’d thought visiting Iris would be a nice gesture, but she never expected another fight to break out.

“Enough!” Iris roared.

“Have you had enough? Do you want to make this family even more chaotic? I’m the one who decides who runs the company. I can give it to whoever I want. No one can stop me.

“I see it now. You just want me gone because I’ve lived too long. Do you forget that Quinn and Peyton are getting engaged? Is this the kind of scene you want her to see?”

Iris could no longer hold back her anger and guilt. She never thought her family would turn out like this, and their fight today was more intense than ever.

Both women fell silent instantly.

“Quinn, go back with Peyton,” Iris said softly, her voice full of regret. “I’m so sorry this happened today. I apologize.

“I’ll come visit you from now on. You don’t need to come back here anymore.”

Iris finally understood-wherever Quinn was, Donna would always come to cause trouble. She’d never let

“It’s okay,” Quinn replied gently.
