Escaping the Alpha, Claimed in the End novel Chapter 11

Chapter 11: Poor Little Omega.

Amelia’s POV

Jasper’s roar still echoed in my ears, his face twisted with fury as he screamed, You can’t reject me! I reject your rejection! His bloodied, swollen face made him look like a monster, and his words made my stomach turn.

My heart pounded, my body aching from the earlier beatingscuts on my arms, bruises on my cheek, and a torn sweater barely holding me together. It had taken every ounce of energy I had to fight back for once, but the result was me standing there shaking, trembling, and drained of all strength, hiding behind Ryder, who looked like he was seconds away from killing Jasper.

For a wild second, I thought it wouldn’t be such a bad thingJasper was the main source of my suffering/But then again, he was an Alpha, we were in his territory, and even though I didn’t know much, I knew enough to guess pack politics wouldn’t allow it.

Not that the demon of a stepbrother I had seemed to understand his own place in this situation.

No one’s leaving with Amelia today,Jasper snarled, struggling to his knees despite his broken wrist. “This is a family matter, Ryder, so back off.He spat at Ryder with a twisted grin, then turned to me. Amelia, Ameliathe poor little Omega. You think yelling will solve the problem? Hahaha.

I’m gonna make you pay for thinking you can defy me, you servant!

Even standing behind a powerful Alpha like Ryder, I couldn’t help but flinch in fear.

His voice dripped with that sick, possessive hate I knew too wellthe kind that came before his worst games.” And after just surviving that nightmare minutes ago, I wasn’t about to step back into it.

Ryder, sensing my fear, stepped forward, his broad shoulders blocking Jasper from view. Don’t you dare call her that,he roared, his voice shaking the room. His dark eyes blazed with rage, and his sharp jaw clenched so tight I thought he’d explode. She’s not your servant, Jasper. She’s my Luna, and you’ll never touch her again!

Jasper laughed, a creepy, unhinged cackle, even with his face looking like raw meat from Lucas’s punches. Luna? Oh please, the deal hasn’t been settled, big man. I decide whether this pathetic little-

One second Ryder was in front of me, the next he was slamming his fist into Jasper’s mouth.

I told you to watch your mouth!

Ryder roared, his voice still echoing when a wave of dizziness hit me. I clutched my injured arm to steady myself, my fingers digging into the fresh puncture wounds from the pins. Pain shot through me, setting off the throbbing in my back all over again.

An involuntary whimper slipped out before I could stop it.

Ryder’s gaze snapped to me, the fury in his eyes softening just a fraction. ShitI almost forgot you’re hurt. Sorry,” he said, his voice low but urgent. His eyes swept over me, catching on the welts and the blood seeping through my torn sleeve. His jaw tightened, worry flashing across his face.

I’m fine,” I mumbled, though my voice cracked. I wasn’t finemy body felt like it was breaking, and my heart was a storm of fearand something else. Something warm that lingered from Ryder’s words earlier. But I couldn’t let him see how close I was to falling apart.

Ryder studied me for a long second, his expression unreadable, before turning back to Jasper.

We’re leaving,” he said, his tone hard as steel. She’s coming with me. This ends now.

Jasper’s grin turned nasty, his eyes glinting with that twisted obsession that made my skin crawl. You think you can take her? That brand on her arm says she’s ours. We’ll hunt her down, Ryder. She’ll never escape Silverlight.

My stomach dropped. I glanced at the scar on my armthe ugly red mark Jasper had burned into me years ago, binding me to him as his slave. It was like a curse, a reminder I’d never be free. Hopelessness hit me hard, making my knees shake. No matter where I went, they’d find me. I’d be trapped in this nightmare forever.

Ryder’s eyes locked on the brand, and his face darkened. Not anymore,” he growled.

He grabbed my arm gently, his warm fingers covering the scar. A strange heat spread through my skin, tingling, then burning like fire.

I gasped as the mark faded, the twisted scar melting away until my arm was smooth, like it had never been there. My jaw dropped. He’d used his Alpha healing powerssomething I’d only heard stories about, a gift only the strongest Alphas had. You don’t belong to anyone but yourself now,Ryder said, his voice steady, his dark eyes holding mine. You’re free, Amelia.

Chapter 11: Poor Little Omega.

My chest tightened, tears burning my eyes. No one had ever cared about me like this. Not my father, who’d slapped me for being late. Not Jasper, who’d tortured me for his sick amusement.

But Ryder was risking everythinghis pack, his lifefor me, a wolfless nobody.

My heart pounded with something new, something terrifying. Hope. It felt like a fragile flame, and I was scared it’d burn out. Let’s go,Ryder said, his arm wrapping around me, guiding me toward the door. His touch was warm, strong, making me feel safe for the first time in years.

Jasper’s face turned purple with rage. This isn’t over!he screamed, lunging at me, his good fist swinging for my face despite his broken wrist dangling uselessly. His eyes were wild, like he’d kill me just to prove a point.

I froze, panic locking my legs, but Ryder was faster. He grabbed Jasper’s wrist, twisting it with a loud *crack*.
