Chapter 79

Chapter 79

AMELIA’s pov

I could not shake off the belief that my puppy was somewhere in trouble. I literally could feel it right within my bones.

“I have to, Ryder. I have to find my puppy.” I said after I’d had enough of all the anxiety and fear I was feeling. Ryder ha tried to convince me to be still and let the warriors do their work.

But how could I sit still when I could feel my puppy was somewhere in danger?

“Do you really have to?” Ryder asked, sounding a bit weary himself. I had half expected him to put up a fight.

I nodded anxiously, “He’s not okay. I can feel it.” I placed a hand over my heart, where it hurt deeply.

“Then I’ll go with you. I can’t let you go alone.”

“You don’t have to do that. I’ll be okay. I’m strong enough.”

“I know you are.” He said softly, and reached for my hand, “But Noah is mine as much as he is yours. I’m worried too.”

I sighed in defeat and nodded, “Alright then. But let’s go out to look for him as soon as possible. The anxiety is killing me

“yes, of course.” I said and rose from the bed.

Before we left the house she turned to me and said, “I know I don’t have my memories back, but I can see your devotion me. And I promise, once all of this is over, I’ll come back to this house with you, and I’ll live with you. I’ll make what we seem to have work, with our without my memories.”

He looked please with what I told him, and smiled his first genuine smile in the past few days.

“I’d like that

very

much.”

When we were outside, I didn’t even know the first place to start looking, so I decided to seek help from the first two strangers I saw walking past us.

“Excuse me, I called out to them. It was a man and a woman, and they turned to look at me like I was a burden some fly.

“What?” It was the woman who spoke, while the man just watched with a raised brow.

“I’m sorry to bother you. But I’m looking for my puppy. He has golden hair and purple eyes. He’s just an infant, and he was taken from me a couple of days ago…” my lips wobbled as I spoke, and I just couldn’t help how desperate I felt, “Please… have you seen him?”

The woman had no trace of compassion in her.

Instead, she turned to her husband, and the both of them shared a look before they erupted

In

laughter.

“So you failed to look after your son, lost him, and now you’re bothering innocent strangers on the road?” the man asked, his eyes blank and empty. He had zero humanity.

“I…” I was short of words. I don’t know what I expected when I asked for their help, but this wasn’t it.

“Leave her alone, honey. She’s probably crazy or something.” The woman said and began to pull the man away. Suddenly, I heard a growl from behind me, and turned to see Ryder walking closer, his eyes filled with anger.

“The woman asked about her puppy” he gritted out and let out another growl, “The least you could have done was answer

kindly.” he snapped and right there, he shifted into his wolf form, and made the couple jump back in shock and fear

But they didn’t get a chance to flee, because Ryder pounced on them with such agility and speed, knocking them off

feet.

“What the please!” the man screamed, “Don’t hurt us!”

But Ryder didn’t quickly let them go. He snapped and growled at them until the woman was weeping, and the man wa begging for mercy.

Only then did he shift back to his human form and snap, “Now, answer her! Have you seen our puppy?”

The woman gulped heavily and looked at us like her life was fading before her eyes.

Ryder walked away why they gathered themselves together, leaving them with me.

“Well? Have you seen him?” I asked again, while Ryder waited close by.

“No.” the woman said, shaking her head painstakingly, “I haven’t seen the puppy you’re talking about.”

“Are you sure?” I pressed, unable to take no for an answer.

“She is. We haven’t seen him. You mentioned he had purple eyes. Those eyes would have caught our notice if we saw the Sorry, ma’am.” the man said, and looked at Ryder as though trying to ask, ‘are we safe now?’

I took a big whiff of them right then, and shook my head sadly. They weren’t lying, they hadn’t seen the boy, there wasn even a single trace of Noah’s scent on them.

PUPPY’s pov

Jasper and I decided to show off our new acquisition. Me.

They led me through the park, while those close by watched us and even whispered among themselves.

“Yes, I know you all are wondering about our new puppy. Well, Camille here, gave birth to him. And since she’s given me such a strong pup, I’m definitely going to marry her!” Jasper announced out loud, and I just rolled my eyes.

“And such a strong pup he really is, after all, he is a descendant of the legendary moon goddess.” Jasper added proudly, an hushed gasps escaped the lips of the crowd present.

I didn’t know so much, but I had learned over the past days that a puppy from the moon goddess herself was always stron and would end up being the king one day.

At least, that’s what Jasper and Camille had been blabbering about these past days.

It was one of the reasons why they kept me around instead of just doing away with me. Not like I had any plans of letting them kill me.

But they couldn’t even do away with me if they wanted to, because according to them, any other pack that learned about m great powers would want me for themselves.

So in a way, I was indisposable.

As they paraded me around town, Camille crouched to my level and smiled at me

sweetly, but her eyes had venom in them.
