“you won’t leave this place whole by the time I’m done with you.” Camille sneered and came at me with full force.

I caught her by her neck, and to her surprise, lifted her into the air, and tossed her across the ground. She landed with a loud thud, and the crowd gasped in shock.

No one expected me to overpower her that easily.

Good, now they would be wary.

I slowly walked toward her and looked down at her with a cold expression, “what was it you were saying, about me not leaving this place whole?” I asked her and she looked up at me with a hint of fear.

“I will crush you.” she gritted out and I humped.

“I’d very much like to see you try.” I kicked her in the gut, and when she let out a loud cry, I had sudden flash memory of her doing the exact same thing to me.

Multiple times.

“Consider yourself lucky, that I just don’t kill you right now.” I spat, and turned away from her.

Just then, Noah ran toward me, a huge smile on his face, yelling, “Mum! Mum!”

“oh, my sweet boy.” I murmured when I crouched down just in time for me to catch him, “I’ve missed you so much.”

I inhaled his sweet scent and nearly wept for Joy.

My hands trembled as I held him tighter. I hadn’t realized how scared I’d been until now.

Ryder watched us just ahead, and when he shifted back to his human form, he had a smile on his face.

“Now, that’s a smile I like to see.” He said, but his smile faltered, and I saw him wince with pain.

“Ryder?” I called, lifting Noah off the ground and walking toward him, “Are you okay?”

“Just a gash.” He said it like it was nothing, but there was an open wound on his arm, and it was still bleeding.

“That’s more than just a gash, Ryder.” I said with concern, but he just smiled reassuringly.

“I’ll be fine, love. Don’t worry.” He soothed, brushing his good hand against my waist like he needed to ground himself, and then turned to the crowd, “And to the rest of you, you all witnessed it for yourself. Camille lost. So the puppy is ours now. He was always ours, and Amelia please take the puppy away.”

The crown began to murmur then.

“I can’t believe Camille is actually so weak.” One of the women said, shaking her head.

“I’m not surprised. She’s probably lying about being the moon goddess descendant. I mean, the puppy barely recognized

her.”

“Maybe she actually did steal the pup.” Another said, and I felt glad they were finally seeing the light.

I looked at Camille then, and then I saw fear flashed into her eyes, before she quickly turned to Jasper for help.

“They are taking him away, Jasper. Please do something.” Camille cried and I had to hand it to her. Her acting was top ter

“You bring that pup back here!” Jasper roared, stepping toward me, but Ryder immediately stood in his way

“Take one more step toward her and I’ll maim you.” Ryder gritted out coldly, before turning to me. “You go right ahead. Amelia. I’ll be with you soon.”

“Okay.” I replied, and turned away with Noah.

“Oh no you don’t!” Jasper roared, and tried to charge toward me again, but Ryder caught him just in time and the both of them got caught up in a fierce battle.

Fists collided and I heard bones crack-Jasper’s bones.

They both let out gruesome growls and slammed into the ground hard enough to make the earth reverberate.

“That pup is mine!” Jasper roared, as he tried to get past Ryder.

“You don’t get anywhere near her.” Ryder thundered.

“You all need to help me get back the pup. They are taking away our pup!”

Jasper called for the crowd to help him take Noah from us, but after all they had seen unfold, some of them were hesitant.
