RYDER’s pov

“Ryder, you need to see this,” Amelia called out to me, while I freshened up in the bathroom.

“Give me a sec.” I called out back and quickly hastened up.

When I stepped into the bedroom, her eyes were wide with shock. She was holding her phone and I supposed that whateve had bothered her had something to do with what was on her phone.

“What’s the problem, Amelia?” I asked, and she responded by handing me the phone.

My eyes darkened when I saw the negative comments about Noah.

“How could anyone say these things?” I asked angrily, but bit back on my anger when I saw how dismayed Amelia looked.

“I think it might be some of Jasper’s supporters. But I can prove it.” She said quietly as she sat on the bed.

“Well, this ends now.” I said, and handed her the phone, but not before closing the page full of the negative comments. “Bur you can’t let this weigh you down.”

“My puppy is an angel, I can’t believe the false hurtful things they are saying.”

“I know.” I said and pulled her toward me, “But it’s why I’m going to make sure they pay for such hurtful words. I promise that they won’t get away with it.”

After I got dressed, I called a meeting with the elders of the pack, to think of a way to bring down the perpetrators as well as met out judgement.

But their behavior had me second guessing if I truly had the right people among the pack elders.

“Those comments are not good for your image, Alpha.” One of the older men said tentatively, and I raised a brow at him.

“I’m less worried about my image, and more worried about how this whole thing affects Amelia and my puppy. It’s why I called this meeting.” I said coolly.

“Oh, but Alpha, you should care about your image. Don’t you know that whatever affects the Alpha affects the rest of us that are under you?”

“This is ridiculous.” I said and heaved out a heavy breath, “Could the lot of you be any more self-centered? But then if indeed you are so bothered about your image, then by all means, find these perpetrators and bring them to me, I’ll be more than happy to deal with them myself.”

The elders shifted nervously before the older one spoke again.

“it would take time to do that, seeing as the ones who wrote those comments did so under anonymous user names. We would never be able to pinpoint the right set of people.”

“And besides, can we really punish people for having opinions?” Another elder asked and I glared at her.

“I can punish these people, if the opinions are false and against my own family. Do you have any idea how this has affected my Luna?”

“What I mean to say is,” He hurriedly corrected. “Is that the people who wrote this are clearly goading you, and you shouldn’t walk head first into their trap.

“So what do you suggest that I do?” I asked dryly.

I slapped my hand against the arm of my chair and the elders shook.

The elder cowered and no one dared to say anything else. I rose up angrily.

“I had hoped that you all had something favorable to add, but I see that you are all incompetent. I don’t know why I haveny changed the lot of you just yet.” I walked out of them angrily. I believed that if I stayed back, I would have imposed my anger on them, and I didn’t want that.

When I returned back to the room, I saw Amelia sitting on the bed, bent over, reading old books.

“What are you doing?” I asked, quietly closing the door behind me.

“Oh, I’m just going through some stories about puppies in the past who have possessed Noah’s kind of powers. These puppies were said to have been gifted… Come take a look.”

I drew closer and scanned over the page she pointed to.

“According to this, the puppies were gifted and caused chaos and panic among their packs….but none of the puppies ever showed any sign of evil.”

“Definitely not.” Amelia sighed and laid her head on my shoulder. “But for now, we just have to.”

And indeed, Noah hated it. Despite the fact that Amelia spent the entire time in the room with him, he sulked about not being able to go out into the garden and play.
