Emily chuckled lightly, shaking her head, 1 know Manley’s out of the country, but I didn’t notify him, and I won’t accept the gift”
“You just take it, it’s for Elliott, and it’s my task to deliver it. Otherwise, he’d think I’m slacking.” Estelle laughed, placing the card package in Emily’s hand.
With so much money weighing her down, Emily felt a warmth in her heart. “Thank you, I’m grateful!”
“Let’s go. I’ve got a wedding to hit!” Magdalen said, slinging an arm around Emily’s shoulders, “Where’s Kya? Isn’t she the flower girl today? Is she wearing the dress I bought her? I can’t wait to see it.”
Emily led the two to find seats.
Once they were gone, everyone at the banquet stopped talking for a moment.
After a while, Linda sneered, “What’s with the act?”
Kenny gently tugged at Linda’s sleeve, whispering, “Mom, watch your mouth. That’s the Sampson family’s little princess. I’ve seen her pictures online”
Magdalen always drew attention, and if she was to harbour ill will towards them, they could face unexpected backlash!
It took a moment for Linda to catch on, “You mean Ms. Sampson of the Sampson family, who married Morrison of the Langston family?”
Kenny nodded.
Shock spread across Linda’s face. Ms. Sampson was a high-class lady they wouldn’t normally interact with.
And Emily was friends with Magdalen?
Did Ms. Sampson really defend Kya?
A chill ran through Linda. She suddenly felt regret. She hadn’t expected Emily to have such influential friends.
Had she been on good terms with Emily before, she might have gotten help from the Sampson family or Mr. James.
It turned out to be necessary. It worked wonders against those fair-weather friends.
Emily was moved, unsure of what to say
“You’re always helping me I feel so useless!”
“How can you be useless? You’re Charlie’s assistant, and you’re well-paid. You’re just too low key. In front of these people, if you’re low-key, they’ll think you’re easy to bully and will try to harm you!” Magdalen said indignantly
“Regardless, I’m really grateful to you guys! Emily said gratefully.
“We’re family. Why mention it?” Magdalen laughed brightly, “Where’s Elliott and the bride? I can’t wait to see the bride!”
“They’re still taking photos outside. They’ll be in soon,” Emily answered with a smile

Someone needs to send a new picture of Trevor to Oliver and Luke so that they will get their requested reports to Gonzalez asap. If they didn't know, now they know what awaits them if they continue to disrespect and NOT follow orders....
Well, well, well. I love how Gonzalez sent out the warning that he's the CEO and either they will acknowledge him as such or get their due diligence. I'm waiting to see how the Franco family will be walking on eggs and come into a new understanding of Gonzalez taking charge. Thank you so much for the five updates....
