Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 2682

That night, at the Royal Mansion.

While Jonathan Lamont was in the shower, Estelle curled up on the sofa on the balcony, talking to Magdalen Sampson on the phone. She looked languid, a hint of weariness in her delicate features, as she listened to Magdalen’s ideas.

Magdalen was excitedly telling her all the ways she planned to torment Jonathan when he came to pick up the bride on the wedding day.

“Oh, right, Ella, have you heard about the Winters family?” Magdalen suddenly changed the subject.

Estelle was so tired she was about to fall asleep. “What about them?” she murmured.

“The moment Mrs. Winters Sr. died, the family plunged into a power struggle. Eugene ended up winning. I mean, who would have thought? Nobody expected that the old matriarch, who was driven out by the other woman, would be holding such a trump card!” Magdalen sighed. “I only started paying attention because of Sylvia. She was in hot water over Mrs. Winters Sr.’s will, and I was trying to figure out how to help her. But once the news broke that the old woman had been secretly buying up shares, the rest of the family was too busy to bother with Sylvia anymore.”

The mention of Sylvia immediately woke Estelle up. As she listened to Magdalen, an idea flashed through her mind, and her eyes grew thoughtful.

“Eugene seems like a gentleman,” Magdalen continued, “but he’s ruthless. I heard he’s already kicked out a good number of his grandfather’s and father’s people in just a day or two. He’s decisive, that one. With Eugene being so calculating and the rest of the Winters clan circling like vultures, I’m really worried Sylvia will get hurt.”

Her mind now occupied, Estelle wrapped up the call a few minutes later.

Jonathan came out and sat beside her, his fingers gently touching her freshly dried hair. His voice was low and magnetic. “Weren’t you just complaining about being tired?”

Estelle turned to him. “I just figured something out.”

“What’s that?” The man’s robe was half-open, and as he leaned closer, a sense of pressure, wrapped in a faint, cool fragrance, came with him.

Estelle leaned back slightly, trying not to be affected by his presence. “The day my brother came back, we went to comfort him. As we were leaving, you told him that the Winters family values profit above all else and that their relationships are incredibly complicated.”

She had figured it out, but only in hindsight. Jonathan, on the other hand, had seen it coming from the start.

Estelle smiled and asked, “Let’s see you guess this: have Sylvia and Eugene broken up by now?”

Jonathan pinched her cheek, his eyes filled with adoration. “Sweetheart, I analyzed her motives based on her character. I’m not some fortune-teller on the street.”

She started to protest, but he tilted her chin up and silenced her with a kiss.

He smelled of the cool, clean scent of his recent shower, mixed with an intoxicating aggression that made her want to retreat. “I’m out of energy,” she mumbled against his lips.

“You said that earlier, too,” he murmured, his voice a low, sexy rumble. He scooped her up and carried her toward the bed. “Can we stay a couple more days before you go back to C City?”
