That single thought was their only motivation.
The pile of empty glasses on the collection cart grew higher and higher, and the cheers from the crowd grew louder and more fervent.
They were halfway through when Nate, who had the lowest tolerance, swayed and leaned against Millard. But his face was split in a wide, satisfied grin. “Exhilarating!”
Manny asked, “You still good? If not, go stand on the side. Don’t push yourself.”
“Of course I’m good! I won’t go down until every last drop is gone!” Nate flashed a handsome smile, immediately straightened up, and bent down to grab another glass.
The others wasted no more words and continued drinking.
“Let’s go, let’s go!”
“They’re so handsome! Think I can get his WhatsApp later?”
“This is incredible! I want to livestream this. Are we allowed to, besides the official media?”
“I’m already live!” someone shouted excitedly.
Others crowded around, their eyes wide with surprise. The person streaming had only a few hundred followers, but now their live viewer count had shot up to over thirty thousand and was still climbing fast.
The streamer’s face flushed with excitement as they yelled words of encouragement, and others joined in the chorus.
The shouts merged into a single, powerful roar, like a crowd of thousands cheering, the atmosphere electric and epic. It was clear they were all wishing they could jump in and help Millard’s team drink.
Finally, they reached the last row of glasses. Bruce, Sean, and their men walked over, picked up the remaining drinks, and raised them in a toast to Millard’s crew. “Drink these, and from now on, we’re all family.”
Millard and his men raised their glasses in unison and drained them.
“This doesn’t look like they’re here to pick up a bride. It looks like a supermodel runway show!”
…
Surrounded by his entourage, Jonathan walked toward the Jarvis estate. As he stepped over the high threshold, his gaze suddenly deepened.
This was a man who wouldn’t flinch if a mountain collapsed before him, yet at this moment, his heart was pounding uncontrollably. His knuckles were white as he gripped the bouquet.
Still, his steps grew even steadier as he made his way toward the back courtyard.
The estate was filled with guests, buzzing with joy and excitement. Some ran to the back courtyard to give Old Mr. Jarvis the good news, while others followed the procession, eager to see what the second challenge for the groom would be.
After the spectacular gauntlet of drinks, expectations for what came next were higher than ever.
