Further away, Grace and Sylvia paused as they were passing by, stopping to watch the excitement.
Estelle smiled and looked back, exchanging a glance with Jonathan. She held the bouquet in both hands, then swung her arms back and tossed it high into the air.
She was bathed in sunlight, her gown flowing, her smile as radiant as a painting.
The people crowded at the front only had time to see the bouquet fly over their heads. Some jumped, but their fingertips missed it by several inches.
Charlie had been prepared for a long throw, but he had still underestimated Estelle's strength. He and Carson leaped at the same time, their fingers brushing against the petals, but it still slipped past them.
Everyone turned to watch as the bouquet flew another ten meters, landing squarely in the hands of a stunningly beautiful girl in a black dress. She had been standing far back and probably hadn't expected to be hit by it. She caught it instinctively, then looked up, stunned.
Grace looked at the bouquet in Sylvia’s hands, pleasantly surprised. “Well, this must be fate!”
Sylvia laughed, a little exasperated, but she raised the bouquet high in the air, catching Estelle's eye across the crowd and playing along with the festive atmosphere.
A wave of disappointed sighs went through the crowd, but then many of them ran over to Sylvia to take photos with her.
Estelle smiled back at Sylvia, though she didn't have a chance to go over and chat just then.
Jonathan took her hand. “Let's go make a toast to Grandpa first. You'll have a chance to talk later.”
Estelle nodded, glancing one last time at Sylvia in the distance before leaving with Jonathan.

Estelle changed out of her wedding gown and into her reception dress to make the rounds. She went to see Old Mr. Jarvis first.
It was a gathering of elders from the Lamont and Jarvis families, all close relatives who doted on Estelle. After a quick toast, they urged her to go rest.
Magdalen's eyes darted around. “I saw some people from the Winters family earlier. Eugene is here too, but Sylvia wasn't with him. Do you think they broke up?”
She certainly hoped Sylvia catching the bouquet didn't mean she was going to marry Eugene.
Magdalen continued, thinking aloud, “Even without considering Gabriel, I never thought Sylvia and Eugene were a good match. Mrs. Winters is so classless. And even before Sylvia married into the family, the Winters clan was already treating her like a public enemy because of Mrs. Winters Sr.'s inheritance. If she actually married him, she'd be walking into a wolf's den!”
Marrying into the Jarvis family would be so much better!
Estelle advised her, “Don’t say any of this to Sylvia later, and don't ask about her and Eugene.”
“Got it,” Magdalen said lazily, draping an arm over Estelle’s shoulder as they leaned back on the sofa. “I'm just venting to you. I know what's appropriate to ask and what's not.”
Estelle had security notified, and soon a maid escorted Sylvia and Grace upstairs.
