Henson fired a second shot, this time hitting him in the mouth. Aries’s lips swelled instantly, silencing his tough talk.
As Henson prepared for a third shot, Aries shouted indistinctly, “I’ll talk, I’ll talk!”
Henson took the phone from Aries’s pocket and made him call.
On the phone, Aries claimed he had shaken off the girl’s grandmother and told his third accomplice to hurry over.
Less than five minutes later, the other boy arrived.
As he got closer and saw Aries tied to a tree, the boy sensed something was wrong and turned to run.
Henson sprinted forward, vaulted off a nearby flowerbed, and launched a flying kick that sent the boy sprawling.
In the end, all three were tied to trees, serving as targets for his practice.

Mrs. Winters didn’t know anything was wrong until she received a phone call.
Mrs. James, naturally, was not going to let Kya’s tormentors off the hook. Within an hour, she had found out which families the three boys belonged to.
Sitting in a quiet lounge and watching Kya play nearby, Mrs. James was still seething. As a member of the James family staff reported his findings, her face was grim.
“Today is the Lamont family’s celebration. I won’t make a scene and spoil the mood. Tell those three families to take their children and get the hell out of this estate.”
The staff member immediately left to carry out her orders.
After giving the command, Mrs. James instructed a maid, “Don’t tell Charlie or Emily about this for now. The reception isn’t over, and I don’t want to upset them.”
The maid quickly agreed.

So it wasn’t long before Mrs. Winters got the call. She was completely baffled. Hearing that Aries had caused trouble, she rushed off to find him.
When she found him, Mrs. Winters staggered, nearly collapsing to the ground.
Aries and the other two boys were tied to trees, their faces bruised and swollen, gags in their mouths, and their pants wet. They had clearly been scared witless.
“Aries, who did this to you?”
Mrs. Winters hurried to untie Aries. Seeing him beaten so badly sent a pang of agony through her.
Her son was pampered and spoiled; he had never endured such treatment.
Seeing his mother, Aries burst into tears, sobbing, “He said his name was Henson!”
A person with Mrs. Winters exclaimed in surprise, “Henson? I think he’s a Lamont—the groom’s nephew!”
Mrs. Winters froze, completely stunned.
The other two families had also arrived. Although they were pained to see their children beaten up, they knew their sons were at fault. Aside from a few scoldings, they dared not say anything else.
Soon, Mr. Winters called, his voice furious. “How could you let this happen to Aries? How could he do something so despicable? I’ve told you to discipline him, but all you do is play cards. Now look at the mess he’s made! Do you have any idea that if we get thrown out today, the Winters family will become the laughingstock of all of J City?”
Facing the barrage of accusations, Mrs. Winters retorted, “He’s not just my son! Don’t you have any responsibility?”
“Don’t give me that nonsense! Take him to apologize to Mrs. James. Get on your knees if you have to. No matter what, the Winters family cannot leave this wedding in disgrace. I’ll be humiliated for the rest of my life!”
With that, Mr. Winters hung up.
Mrs. Winters felt a mix of anger and heartache for Aries. Her husband’s words had thrown her into a panic. Suddenly, an idea struck her: Evelyn.
Evelyn was Old Mr. Quintin’s granddaughter, an honored guest of the Lamont family. If she would plead their case to the James family, they would surely have to give her face.
Mrs. Winters immediately took out her phone and called Evelyn.
