Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 2800

“Sylvia!” Old Mr. Jarvis was the first to speak, calling out with a cheerful laugh.

“Old Mr. Jarvis,” Sylvia said, walking over with a smile. “It’s been a while. I hope you’ve been well.”

“Well, very well!” Old Mr. Jarvis’s expression grew even more affectionate.

“Congratulations. Estelle has found such a wonderful new family. We’re all quite envious.”

Old Mr. Jarvis beamed. “The joy is mutual, mutual!”

Old Mr. Quintin was still staring at Sylvia, dumbfounded. He asked hesitantly, “You are… Sylvia?”

Sylvia turned to Old Mr. Quintin and nodded respectfully. “You must be Old Mr. Quintin. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”

Old Mr. Quintin had held a strong negative opinion of Sylvia before, but now, faced with the young woman’s smile, his eyes stung and his throat felt tight. He couldn’t utter a word, only managing a nod.

They all sat down to talk.

Old Mr. Quintin collected himself and asked Grace, “Have you seen Estelle?”

“Yes, I have,” Grace replied.

Old Mr. Jarvis immediately asked, “And what is my Estelle up to?”

“She’s with her friends,” Grace said with a smile. “I wish I had met her sooner. We talked for a long time; it felt like we’d known each other for years.”

Old Mr. Jarvis laughed heartily, his joy genuine whenever Estelle was mentioned. “If she could talk with you for that long, it means she truly likes you.”

Old Mr. Quintin suddenly asked, “Grace, how did you and Ms. Jarvis meet?”

Grace glanced at Sylvia, who replied, “It was a long time ago, at an art exhibition.”

“You like art as well?” Old Mr. Quintin pressed.

“I do,” Sylvia smiled, “though I’ve never formally studied it.”
