Old Mr. Quintin was in a good mood today, so he didn't press the matter.

Evelyn walked up to Estelle and said softly, "Estelle, I've been wanting to talk to you too, but I never got the chance."

Estelle sat up straight, her gaze clear. "Go ahead."

Evelyn smiled. "First of all, you look absolutely beautiful today. And the groom is so handsome!"

Estelle's lips curved. "Thank you."

Evelyn's expression grew more sincere. "In my heart, after my grandfather, you're the most important person to me. Without you, I would have died long ago. I never would have made it to J City, let alone been reunited with him. And today, I even got to see my mother. I'm just so happy!"

"On such a joyous day, don't talk about things like dying," Old Mr. Jarvis gently chided from the side. "Let's talk about happy things."

Evelyn nodded quickly, wiping the corner of her eye. "I'm just a little emotional."

"We're all family here. What's there to be emotional about?" Old Mr. Quintin said, handing Evelyn a tissue.

Evelyn dabbed her eyes, sniffled, and took a box out of her Chanel bag, handing it to Estelle. "This is your wedding gift. I went to so many stores and spent a long time picking it out. Do you like it?"

Estelle nodded. "Thank you."

Recognizing the box as one from her own family's brand, Estelle opened it. She was still slightly taken aback when she saw the new bracelet inside.

It was beautiful, with lustrous South Sea pearls and two small perfume bottle charms, each embedded with different colored gemstones. It was incredibly pretty and delicate.

She remembered being at Harriet's for a wedding dress fitting the other day. As she was leaving, the store manager had joked with Harriet, asking which customer they thought would buy this particular bracelet.

It turned out to be neither of the customers they had guessed, but Mrs. Winters.

Harriet had been surprised at the time, thinking it was a bit inappropriate for Mrs. Winters to wear herself, as she didn't have a daughter.
