Estelle and Sophia helped carry Georgia upstairs to rest. Jonathan called for a doctor, who arrived shortly after.
Downstairs, Old Mr. Quintin was shaken by Georgia's collapse. Fortunately, Old Mr. Jarvis was by his side, helping to keep him calm.

Upstairs, Don stood by the bed, his brow furrowed with worry. "Georgia, please don't be like this. I'll help you find your daughter. I promise I'll find her."
Georgia kept her eyes closed. "Please go," she said softly. "I want to be alone for a while."
Estelle asked everyone else to leave, then poured a glass of water and sat by the bed, her eyes downcast. "I'm so sorry, Georgia."
Georgia may have seemed indifferent to Evelyn, her attitude always cold, but how could she not care about her own daughter?
She just hadn't dared to show it.
Perhaps there had been another "Evelyn" in the past. Perhaps they had grown close before a DNA test, just like today, had dealt her a devastating blow.
Georgia opened her eyes, a gentle smile touching her lips. "How could I blame you? If good intentions were always met with blame, the world would only grow colder."
After speaking a few words, she seemed to have a bit more energy. "Is that water for me?" she asked Estelle.
Estelle, startled, quickly handed the glass to Georgia.
Georgia propped herself up. "You should lie down," Estelle said quickly. "I'll help you!"
"I just felt dizzy for a moment. I'm much better now." Georgia sat up against the headboard, her gaze falling on the room. Her eyes slowly reddened.
"Nana and I used to live in this room. Her rocking horse was on the balcony. She loved that horse; she would always laugh when she sat on it. And over there..." Georgia pointed to a gap next to the bookshelf. "There was a small bookshelf with all of Nana's favorite books and toys..."
Tears streamed down her face. "Later, after Nana was lost, Dad saw me crying while holding her things every day, so he had everything belonging to her put away. But what good did that do? Everything is etched into my mind."
Listening to Georgia's suppressed yet agonizing voice, Estelle's eyes reddened too.
"Yes."
Hanging up, Sylvia gathered her things and headed downstairs, her mind racing. Why was he here? How should she handle this?
If he was finally free to deal with her over the ten thousand dollars, how could she explain it?
If he was here just to see her, how should she refuse? Could she even refuse?
No, she had to refuse. She hadn't been drinking today, her mind was clear. She couldn't let their relationship go back to where it was.
Sylvia steeled her resolve as she stepped out of the elevator and walked toward the building's entrance.
From a distance, she saw his tall, cool, and imposing figure, and her heart began to beat a little faster.
Under his intense gaze, she walked toward him slowly and offered a polite, detached smile. "Mr. Carnes, what brings you here?"
