The tears Georgia had been desperately holding back streamed down her face. “Gab, can I still find Nana?”
It was just like when Nana had first disappeared. A teenage Gabriel had rushed to J City, and Georgia, having cried herself hoarse, had asked him despairingly, “Gab, will we ever find my Nana?”
“Yes.”
Today, Gabriel gave her the same answer, his gaze resolute. “Can we do one more test?”
Georgia stared at him, her eyes wide with tearful shock. “What?”
Old Mr. Quintin, grasping at a sliver of hope, asked anxiously, “Can these tests be wrong? Would another one be more accurate?”
“No.”
Gabriel turned to Sylvia, taking her wrist and pulling her out of the shadows to stand before Georgia. “Georgia, this time, you and Sylvia will do a maternity test.”
His words fell into a stunned silence. Everyone was frozen.
Including Georgia and Sylvia.
Evelyn's eyes widened in disbelief, surprise and panic written all over her face.
Sylvia tugged at her hand. “How could Georgia and I possibly—”
Gabriel held her fast. “Your history is similar to Nana's, you have a birthmark on your back, and haven't many people said you and Georgia look alike?”
Georgia looked at Sylvia in astonishment. “You have a birthmark on your back?”
Sylvia replied, “I do, but I have a tattoo over it, so you can't see it anymore.”
Georgia's eyes suddenly reddened. She helped Sylvia fix her shirt and looked at her with tears in her eyes. “Then let’s do the test tomorrow.”
As long as there was hope, she couldn't give up. She couldn't back down just because she was afraid of the pain.
Sylvia offered a small smile. “Alright. I respect your decision.”
The others were still reeling from the sudden turn of events. Estelle glanced at Jonathan and whispered, “Georgia and Sylvia really do look alike when they stand together.”
Jonathan smiled faintly. “Perhaps it's fate.”
It was already dark. Since Georgia had decided to do another test tomorrow, she wouldn't be leaving tonight. She tried to persuade Sylvia to stay as well. “Have dinner with us tonight.”
Sylvia glanced at Evelyn's strained face and Old Mr. Quintin's still-shocked expression, her features softening. “I shouldn't impose. I have a project proposal to finish tonight anyway. We can see each other tomorrow.”

Maybe Gabriel can have someone at the Citadel check the whereabouts of Evelyn's boyfriend, whom she followed there in the 1st place to get information about her adoptive family and her biological family as well. The sooner she's gone the better. Thanks for the updates....
