Sylvia smiled softly and typed back, [I was, but you woke me up!]

Not wanting the screen's glow to wake Georgia, Sylvia ducked under the covers to reply, [It's late. Did you need something?]

[No, just wanted to see if you were awake.]

[Why aren't you sleeping?]

Looking at his short reply, Sylvia felt a surge of emotion—a different kind of warmth stirring inside her.
