Adrian froze, his hands stopping their movements as he stared at Norah in shock.
Norah was just as confused. "What did you tell my mom about me?"
Adrian asked tentatively, "Xavier... You don't know him?"
Norah looked thoughtful, but ultimately said with absolute certainty, "No, I don't!"
Shock flashed through Adrian's eyes, but he quickly covered it up with a casual smile, acting as if he suddenly understood. "Ah, I remembered wrong. He's a friend of mine. You really haven't met him."
Norah was still puzzled and pressed, "Then why did you just say you told my mom about him and me? What happened with us?"
Adrian's mind raced. "It's just... he wanted to come work at the company, and I wanted you to mentor him for a bit. I hadn't told you yet, so I wanted to get Janice's opinion first."
Norah finally smiled. "Why would you ask my mom about work stuff? He's your friend, so it's no problem. I can show him the ropes."
Adrian couldn't see any trace of faking on her face. He had a lot of questions in his heart but didn't dare ask. He quickly handed her the peeled apple and changed the subject.
Adrian didn't mention this to Janice; he couldn't figure it out himself.
It wasn't until two days later that the Lamont family noticed the problem.
Simon Hanson had wanted to visit Norah early on. Now that her condition had finally stabilized, he eagerly called Xavier to come with him.
Simon roughly knew the cause and effect of Norah's injury. He felt that Xavier owed Norah and should come to apologize.
Xavier had desperately wanted to see Norah all along, but he was afraid his presence would upset her and affect her recovery.
As soon as he got the call today, he immediately drove to the hospital.
In the hospital room, Estelle and Jonathan were both present. After the Hanson family entered, the elders exchanged pleasantries before walking into the ward.
Xavier's gaze turned somber. He couldn't help but take a step forward, staring intently at Norah. Looking at the person he had been thinking about day and night for over ten days, he had so much he wanted to say to her.
But he saw Norah looking at him calmly, even like a stranger. She smiled and said, "Uncle Gonzalez. I saw you when I was little. It's been so many years!"
Xavier froze, staring at her in shock.
Norah looked him up and down with curiosity before quickly looking away.
Estelle and Jonathan exchanged a glance, both a little confused.
Mr. Hanson was also surprised and couldn't figure out the situation, but he tactfully didn't mention anything, treating it merely as an elder visiting a junior.
Afraid of delaying Norah's rest, Simon exchanged a few words and took his leave. Xavier didn't leave with him.
He sat in the hallway, feeling a wave of panic, and asked Estelle as she walked out, "What's going on? Does she have amnesia?"

As the plot thicken. Adrian is done for and he can't try to control Norah, so he'd probably tattle to Janice who's gone for two weeks. Thank you soooo much for the updates....
