Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 3149

She pressed her hands together, closed her eyes to make a wish, her long, thick eyelashes fluttering slightly.

Then, she blew out the candles.

The crowd erupted into loud cheers and applause.

With Adrian's help, she cut the first slice of cake.

Standing opposite them, Janice Harper watched the scene with profound warmth. She turned to Alcott Lamont. "Adrian really is a wonderful young man. He treats her so well."

Alcott's expression was gentle as he smiled. "How does Norah feel about him?"

Janice kept her eyes on her daughter's pure, bright smile. "He's by her side every single day, and she's always so happy. I think she's falling for him."

"As long as she's happy, I have no objections," Alcott said simply.

Suddenly, Janice's thoughts drifted to Gonzalez. Back when she first realized Norah had feelings for Gonzalez, she had felt the exact same way—as long as her daughter was happy, she wouldn't stand in their way.

Unfortunately, Gonzalez's feelings for Norah hadn't been nearly as resolute.

And that hesitation had indirectly led to the horrific car crash.

A few days ago, she had spoken with Norah's doctor. Since the doctor had explained that Norah's amnesia was a psychological defense mechanism, Janice had been terrified that suppressing those memories would leave a hidden trauma or affect her emotional stability.

The doctor had advised her to talk to Norah frequently to monitor her mental state.

Janice hadn't gone on any business trips lately, pouring all her energy into her family, and everyone was showering Norah with extra love and attention.

But Norah was completely fine. Having forgotten Gonzalez entirely, she showed zero signs of distress.

Perhaps, for Norah, Gonzalez truly was just a thing of the past.

She would fall in love with Adrian and never remember the painful memories she had locked away.

Norah frowned, staring at it. What was this supposed to mean?

Looking closer, the craftsmanship on the charms was exceptional. The animals' expressions and postures were incredibly lifelike. Strangely, the small gold chains connecting them to the black leather looked exactly like miniature leashes, keeping the two little pets tethered.

She turned it over in her hands, her mind flashing back to the man she had seen in the bookstore. Tall, imposing, with strikingly handsome but predatory features—he looked like a ruthless, unapproachable guy. It was incredibly jarring that he would give her something like this.

Maybe someone else had picked it out for him.

Dismissing the thought, Norah put the bracelet back in its box and tossed it into her vanity drawer.

Just as the drawer slid shut, she froze. She pulled it open again. Shoved all the way in the back of her jewelry box was another braided black leather bracelet.

She took both of them out. The older one had a silver charm engraved with a blessing, and the leather was a bit worn. The new one had solid gold charms and much higher quality leather. Yet, side by side, the two bracelets looked strikingly similar.

Norah couldn't for the life of her remember when she had bought the silver one. Looking at the two nearly identical bracelets in her hands, a strange, suffocating wave of emotion tightened her chest.

Was it just a coincidence?
