After her birthday, Norah's life settled back into a peaceful routine. She was now able to walk slowly around her room.
Adrian still visited frequently, and they joked and teased each other without any reservations. They had grown much closer than before.
On Friday afternoon, the bookstore called Norah to let her know that the specific edition of the book she wanted had finally arrived.
It had been out of stock on her last visit, so she had left her number.
Norah changed her clothes and had her driver take her to the bookstore.
Since it was a weekday, the shop was mostly empty. The air smelled heavily of rich coffee, quiet and elegant—the perfect place to kill some time.
After picking up her order, she lingered by the shelves, browsing and reading for a long time.
When she finally felt thirsty, she held her book and maneuvered her wheelchair toward the cafe area.
As she got closer, she spotted a man sitting on the sofa near the window and froze.
The man's tall, muscular frame was leaning casually against the backrest, an open book resting on his crossed knees. He propped his elbow on the armrest, his fingers resting against his lips as he stared out the window, lost in thought.
Hearing the soft whir of her wheelchair, he turned his head. The second he saw Norah, his pupils contracted. A dark, intense wave of emotion surged in his predatory gaze, darkening his eyes before he quickly masked it.
Norah smiled. "Gonzalez. We run into each other again. What a coincidence."
Gonzalez stared at her. Standing up, his long legs closed the distance in a few quick strides. "Do you need a hand?" he asked, his voice deep and gravelly.
The cafe area was raised on a small platform, and her wheelchair couldn't make it up the step.
"No, it's okay. I can walk now, just not for very long!" she said, setting her book down and gripping the armrests to stand.
She had been sitting for too long, so her legs were a little numb, making her movements slow and unsteady.
Gonzalez watched her struggle, his jaw tightening. When she finally managed to stand, she winced slightly. Without a second thought, he stepped forward and scooped her up into his arms.
Norah gasped, staring at him in shock. Instinctively, she leaned back, trying to put distance between them.

May we please have updates. Thank you...
Someone needs to send a new picture of Trevor to Oliver and Luke so that they will get their requested reports to Gonzalez asap. If they didn't know, now they know what awaits them if they continue to disrespect and NOT follow orders....
Well, well, well. I love how Gonzalez sent out the warning that he's the CEO and either they will acknowledge him as such or get their due diligence. I'm waiting to see how the Franco family will be walking on eggs and come into a new understanding of Gonzalez taking charge. Thank you so much for the five updates....
Adrian is hoping that he has a chance with Norah and will do everything and anything in his power to keep Norah and Xavier apart....
Thank you for the updates. I hope that Norah will remember Xavier and their relationship before the accident and that they will ever be to....
