After chatting a bit more about Estelle and Jonathan, Janice checked the time. "I should get going, and you need to get back to work. I'm leaving on a business trip tomorrow for about two weeks. Call me if you need anything."
"Don't worry, stop treating me like a teenager. I'm perfectly capable of being independent now," Norah said, her smile bright and genuine.
Janice chuckled softly. "You could age another ten years and you'd still be my little girl."
Norah stood up and gave Janice a warm hug. "Make sure you take care of yourself out there."
"I will." Janice patted Norah's shoulder, feeling a deep, heartfelt pride in her two mature children.

By the time the weekend rolled around, Norah still hadn't crossed paths with her new neighbor.
She had figured out how to use the various kitchen appliances and could boil a simple pot of pasta, even if the taste left much to be desired.
Late Friday afternoon, right before she clocked out, she received a message from Gonzalez. He had to work the next day and couldn't make it to the bookstore, telling her to enjoy her weekend and get some rest.
Norah had already prepared her lesson plans for their tutoring session. Finding out she didn't have to go left her feeling inexplicably disappointed.
That evening, instead of returning to her apartment, she drove back to the Lamont family estate.
As soon as Catherine saw her, she warmly grabbed her hand, asking a million questions before immediately demanding Norah's opinion on the colors and styles of the clothes she was preparing for Estelle's baby.
Looking at the detailed sketches her grandmother had drawn, Norah asked in surprise, "Grandma, did you secretly study tailoring?"
Catherine shook her head, looking rather proud. "I just started learning a few days ago."
The family had hired a famous fashion designer to come to the house. Catherine had spent the last three days learning how to sketch and cut fabric, insisting on sewing everything by hand.
Amazed, Norah couldn't help but ask, "Did Jonathan confirm if it's a boy or a girl?"
"We don't know yet!" Catherine replied.
"Then how do you know what styles and colors to make?"
"How?" Norah asked.
The teenager smirked with absolute confidence. "Watch and learn."

Jonathan was in the kitchen, giving the private chef strict instructions regarding Estelle's dietary restrictions, when Henson walked in.
"Uncle Jonathan!"
Jonathan glanced over. "What's up?"
Henson gave a slight nod, pulling Jonathan aside. He lowered his voice, frowning. "Grandma keeps talking Auntie Estelle's ear off. She looks pretty uncomfortable, but she's too polite to shoot Grandma's enthusiasm down."
Jonathan understood immediately. He turned on his heel and headed straight for the living room.
