Norah had always thought this man looked incredibly handsome when he smiled. Strikingly handsome. The kind of handsome that would make Sara swoon.

But in that moment, she forgot that Gonzalez never smiled like this for anyone else.

"Go back to sleep." A barely detectable softness crept into his usually aloof voice.

Norah smiled and waved. "Good night!"

She walked out and opened the door to her own apartment. As she pushed it open, she instinctively turned her head. His tall figure was still standing there, watching her, his shadow stretched long across the floor by the hallway lights.

Norah had the distinct feeling that after tonight, their relationship had grown much more familiar. Closer, somehow.

She smiled and stepped inside.

Since they were spending more time together in the evenings, there was naturally no need for weekend tutoring sessions anymore.

Early Saturday morning, after saying a quick goodbye to Gonzalez, Norah headed back to the Lamont family home.

The moment she walked in, she bumped into Henson. He eyed her with suspicion. "Why didn't you come home last night?"

Usually, on weekends, Norah would come home on Friday night.

She hadn't come home last night because she'd been helping Gonzalez take care of Circe, and when he got back, they had another hour-long study session.

Norah didn't tell the truth, casually tossing out an excuse. "I worked super late last night, so I just went straight to my apartment to crash."

After she spoke, she noticed the bag slung over Henson's shoulder. "Where are you off to?"

"Meeting some classmates to fly drones," Henson replied, looking down as he changed his shoes.

"Make sure you stay in the permitted zones," Norah reminded him.

"I know, I know!" Henson waved her off. "I'm out!"

Thinking of Hannah and Yvonne, Norah mumbled, "Ever since Hannah joined the Hanson family, our two families have drifted further apart."

"Don't gossip about the adults," Geoffrey said sternly.

Norah knew better than to say anything else.

After lunch, Norah and Geoffrey took a car to the Hanson estate.

On the way, Norah suddenly wondered if Gonzalez had gone home. Would they run into each other?

Did his family know they were neighbors now?

When they arrived, Hannah and Yvonne, having known the Lamonts were coming, were already waiting by the front door.

Seeing Geoffrey and Norah get out of the car, Hannah flashed a fawning smile. "Geoffrey, you're here. My husband has tea ready in the sitting room and is waiting for you!"
