Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 3316

Zane pondered for a moment. "Norah is representing the Chambers Corporation, after all. When we get to the Hanson Corporation, don't single her out too much. Leave her some dignity."

Jenny's expression cooled. "What? Feeling sorry for your little protégé?"

Zane immediately offered a placating smile. "I'm only thinking about the company's best interests and our reputation."

Crossing her arms, Jenny scoffed. "Relax. I know what I'm doing. I won't embarrass her in public, but if Mr. Ladd from the business department doesn't give her the time of day, that's none of my business!"

Before Zane could reply, Gillian York walked in. She caught Zane's eye, then quickly looked away to focus on Jenny. "Jenny, there are a few issues with yesterday's proposal I need to go over with you."

Jenny was in an exceptionally good mood today, her attitude much more agreeable than her usual arrogance. "Sure, I have time right now."

Zane reminded her, "We leave for the Hanson Corporation in half an hour. Don't forget."

"I know!" Jenny replied impatiently, following Gillian out the door.

Gillian, walking a step behind her, threw a final glance back at Zane.

At ten-thirty that morning, Norah and her team arrived promptly at the Hanson Corporation headquarters.

Blaine Weston's assistant led Norah to a conference room on the fifteenth floor with a polite smile. "Please take a seat, Ms. Norah. Mr. Weston had a last-minute matter to attend to, but he'll be right over as soon as he's finished."

Norah's voice was gentle. "There's no rush. We can wait here while he finishes his work."

The assistant had coffee served before quietly stepping out.

Jenny looked around, clicking her tongue in awe. "This century-old corporation really is on another level. So impressive!"

Zane chuckled. "The Chambers Corporation isn't too shabby either!"

Gonzalez's brow furrowed. "Blaine hasn't gone down yet? How long have they been waiting?"

Holly checked the time. "Almost half an hour. Mr. Weston ran into a sudden issue and is on a call trying to resolve it."

Gonzalez's expression instantly darkened. "I don't care what he's dealing with. Tell him to get to that conference room immediately!"

Seeing that the boss was on the verge of exploding, Holly quickly nodded. "Right away, sir. I'll call him right now."

Gonzalez waited in his office for two agonizing minutes before Holly returned. "Mr. Hanson, Mr. Weston is on his way down."

In the conference room, Blaine hurried in and immediately introduced himself, offering a sincere apology. "I am so sorry. A sudden situation came up, and I kept you all waiting!"

Jenny frowned in confusion. *Why wasn't it Trevor Cromwell?*
