Blaine quickly provided the answer. "Due to recent internal personnel changes, I've taken over from Mr. Cromwell to handle the negotiations with your company."
Norah, naturally, showed no surprise. "I'm in the same boat, Mr. Weston. I just took over this project myself, so we can treat this as a completely fresh start."
"Exactly!" Blaine smiled warmly. "I've reviewed the proposal your team submitted. It's excellent. There are just a few minor details to iron out, which is perfect since we can discuss them face-to-face today."
The girl sitting across from him looked incredibly young, yet her demeanor was poised, confident, and completely professional. It made Blaine understand exactly why she had been promoted to department head so early in her career.
Coupled with Mr. Hanson's strict orders, he didn't dare show even a hint of neglect. His tone was warm and thorough, carrying a subtle, almost imperceptible eagerness to please.
Norah gestured to her team. "I've brought along our business department lead, Mr. Ladd, and our project engineer, Jenny. If you have any specific questions, please feel free to ask them."
Jenny had been lost in thought and suddenly jolted back to reality at the sound of her name. "Oh, right! Just ask me anything, Mr. Weston!"
An hour later, the two sides had reached a basic consensus on the partnership. Blaine smiled broadly. "Everything looks perfect on my end. Once Mr. Hanson reviews and approves it, we can move forward with signing the contract!"
It wasn't just Jenny—even Mr. Ladd was completely stunned. How did a project that had previously felt impossible to secure suddenly get wrapped up in an hour?
Norah smiled. "Then I'll head back and wait for your good news, Mr. Weston."
Blaine checked his watch. "It's already noon. I'll have my assistant make arrangements. Please, do me the honor of staying for lunch."
Norah politely declined. "I have matters to attend to back at the office, so I won't impose. But once the contract is signed, the dinner is on me to properly thank you."
"This is a mutually beneficial partnership, Ms. Norah, there's no need to be so formal!"
After exchanging a few more pleasantries, Norah led her team out. Blaine personally escorted them all the way to the elevator.
It wasn't until they stepped out of the Hanson Corporation building that Mr. Ladd finally let out a breath of pure disbelief. "Is it really secured?"
Norah nodded. "Pretty much!"
