Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 3339

Zane had the professional chops, but he had ultimately let his libido utterly destroy his career.

With Norah's workplace drama finally settled, Adrian was visibly relaxed. He grinned, "My family is hosting a banquet tonight. I want you to come with me."

Norah set down her coffee cup, utterly bewildered. "A Chambers family banquet? Why would I go to that?"

Adrian's eyes burned with intensity. "My grandpa misses you. He complained that he barely got to speak with you at his birthday gala, so he specifically ordered me to bring you along. Plus, there's... something else I need to do."

He was completely ready. Tonight was the night he would lay it all on the line and confess his feelings to Norah.

Hearing that Grandpa Chambers had asked for her, Norah felt she couldn't refuse. "What time?"

"Around seven," Adrian replied eagerly. "I'll drive you to the hotel."

"Alright."

Adrian had already been preparing to fire Jenny and Gillian, so he had seamlessly arranged replacements to take over their duties without the department missing a single beat.

When Norah returned to her office, a steady stream of coworkers trickled in, awkwardly offering their apologies.

"Supervisor Lamont, we're so incredibly sorry for letting Jenny brainwash us!"

"We've learned our lesson. We won't jump on the gossip bandwagon ever again!"

"Even what you see with your own eyes isn't always the truth, let alone a bunch of photos!"

...

Norah gracefully accepted their apologies and assured everyone that she wasn't holding any grudges. She just wanted them to focus on their work.

[Are you absolutely sure this is the right time? What if she shoots you down? How are you going to recover from that?]

[I seriously suggest you hit the brakes. I don't think she's over Gonzalez. Subconsciously, she's still completely in love with him. You're walking straight into a minefield!]

She tried to be diplomatic, but she was practically screaming at him that Norah's heart still belonged to Gonzalez.

It took Adrian a few minutes to reply. [If I don't do this now, I'll lose my window forever. If I don't go all in tonight, I'll regret it for the rest of my life.]

Sara furrowed her brow in deep frustration. Adrian had completely tunnel-visioned, and nothing she said was going to snap him out of it.

Adrian followed up: [You need to come tonight. I need you as my wingwoman.]

Sara debated for a second before firing back: [Send me the address. I have a work dinner, but I'll rush over the second it's done. DO NOT confess until I get there. Wait for me.]
