Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 3340

Later that evening.

The Chambers family was hosting an opulent banquet at a five-star hotel to welcome back elders returning from overseas.

Norah arrived alongside Adrian. The massive main table seated nearly thirty people, exclusively reserved for the core members of the Chambers dynasty. Sitting next to Grandpa Chambers was an elderly man with graying temples—Adrian's great-uncle.

He was Grandpa Chambers's biological older brother.

He had traveled back from Y Country for a family reunion, bringing his own children along. With everyone in attendance, this gathering was a monumental event for the entire family.

It wasn't until she walked through the doors that Norah realized the sheer scale of the event. She had assumed it was just a casual family dinner where she was tagging along for fun.

The moment they entered the grand hall, Adrian escorted Norah straight to the main table to greet his grandfather.

Mrs. Chambers and Adrian's father both stood up immediately, offering her warm and incredibly affectionate greetings.

Grandpa Chambers lovingly introduced Norah to his older brother. He even ordered the staff to squeeze an extra chair right beside him, allowing Norah—a young outsider—to take the seat of honor next to the patriarch.

Of course, Norah's elite status as a daughter of the Lamont family played a part, but seeing Grandpa Chambers lavish her with such blatant favoritism led everyone in the room to the same conclusion: an upcoming marriage between Norah and Adrian was practically set in stone.

Instantly, a chorus of flattery and sycophantic praise filled the air. Even Adrian's cousins, green with envy over his perfect match, forced wide, fawning smiles.

Every alarm bell in Norah's head was screaming. Sensing the overwhelming shift in the atmosphere, she hastily conjured an excuse and slipped out of the private hall.

Once outside, she exhaled a long, heavy breath. Adrian had followed her. "Why didn't you warn me your great-uncle was in town and this was some massive dynastic reunion? If I had known, I never would have come."

"It was an absolute mandate from my grandfather. I had to bring you. Just look at it as doing me a huge favor!" Adrian laughed easily.

"Well, I can't go back in there," Norah said firmly. "I'll pop back in to say a quick goodbye to your grandpa, and then I'm heading home."
